Gin issues.

So, I’ve got this annoying issue where I’m getting this yellowish discharge right after sex... nothing smells weird and there's zero itching, which is a plus, I guess. But I did go in for some Chase tests and they found Staphylococcus feacalis and Klebsiella pneumoniae, so they put me on Cleocin cream.
The thing is, it just keeps happening immediately after we hook up.

Has anyone else dealt with something like this? And shouldn't my partner be getting treated too?

It's highly likely your partner needs treatment as well. He really needs to go get tested himself to see if he's carrying the same issue.

I remember once having *Staphylococcus* showing up in my urine culture—it was quite the ordeal! I was taking nitrofurantoin and practically living on herbal teas; cranberry, nettles, uva urisi... though, heaven forbid, you shouldn't try drinking them all at once! As for this specific strain, I'm not entirely certain which antibiotics are used for treatment. These bacteria are typically just part of the normal gut flora, after all. So, honestly, both you and your partner really ought to be a bit more mindful regarding hygiene—not just generally, but during intimacy as well. And please, always make sure to wipe thoroughly from front to back after using the restroom; surely you're already aware of that basic rule?

And... well, once something migrates toward the rear, it isn't heading back toward the vagina.

I’m guessing he’s carrying the same bacteria, too—it’s basically become a rule at this point that I only deal with discharge right after we have sex... (which isn't exactly happening often lately, unfortunately)

As far as hygiene goes, I'm positive that's not the issue. We both make it a point to wash up after using the restroom, and we don't do any anal sex ;-)

Discharge after sex is actually quite common—nothing to panic about there—but it is entirely possible that this yellowish tint you're seeing due to a pelvic infection is just being more noticeable because of sexual arousal. Honestly, the fact that there’s no odor is a good sign, isn't it? But please, for your own sake, go back to the doctor(!) immediately; those of us replying here are just laypeople with opinions, not medical professionals. Have you had a urine culture done yet? If not, you absolutely should! You might have bacteria sitting in your urinary tract... and that is something you simply cannot afford to ignore (Staphylococcus is notoriously stubborn, and I'm not even sure how much resistance Klebsiella shows these days). Also, don't just try to fix this with a topical cream—you likely need oral antibiotics or perhaps some natural supplements instead. Both of you really need to focus on boosting your immune systems; maybe cut back on the alcohol for a while? And before you find out what's going on with your partner... take a condom. If he won't? Then don't. 😈 😉

I’m heading back to see my doctor tomorrow. Honestly, it’s infuriating having to hunt for answers like this, especially since she acts like she couldn't care less whenever I actually show up with questions.
When I asked her if the boy should be on any kind of treatment, she just gave me this vague, non-committal, "well, he could..." response... and then, to top it all off, she completely forgot to write the prescription.
It feels absolutely terrible that I’m basically the one suggesting the therapy to her. I mean, she's supposed to be the doctor here, right?
In her eyes, the cure for every single ailment under the sun is just Gentamicin... give me a break.

Find a new doctor. If you're in Chicago, there are plenty of specialists who actually know what they're doing.

Did they give you a prescription for Gentamicin, and were you able to pick it up at the pharmacy? I went looking for it myself, but they told me it’s no longer being manufactured 😕

How can anyone say it doesn't work? I've got the proof sitting right here in my desk drawer!
It's from Pfizer—comes in that white and orange box... there are 6 vaginal inserts per pack...

There was a time when you couldn't find it anywhere—though maybe it’s back on the shelves now.
Or maybe you just happened to stumble upon a CVS that actually has some in stock.
