Google Chrome cache issues.

So, I’ve been running this gaming website of mine—it’s been quite a project!—and I finally decided to activate an SSL certificate. But here’s the kicker: once I flipped that switch, all my game assets and photos that were still stuck on just HTTP suddenly vanished from the site entirely!
After chatting things through with my web hosting provider, I went ahead and added some specific code to my .htaccess file. That actually did the trick for most places; now the games and images show up perfectly fine in every browser and even on my phone... except for one stubborn outlier: Google Chrome on my desktop.
I have tried absolutely everything under the sun to clear out the cache on my PC
- Diving into the browser settings to wipe the cache
- Running commands via CMD to clear the local cache
- Using those classic keyboard shortcuts like CTRL+F5 or CTRL+shift+F5
- Running CCleaner
- Even using various website plugins...

But honestly? It feels like a total waste of time because those images and games simply refuse to appear in Google Chrome on my computer.
It is so strange—everything works flawlessly on Mozilla, Opera, and every single mobile browser I throw at it, including the mobile version of Google Chrome!

Is there some deep-seated setting within Google Chrome that I can tweak to fix this, or am I missing some other clever workaround?

I suspect the issue is that not all your assets (like images) are being served over HTTPS, which causes Google Chrome to block them from loading. You can actually verify this by checking the console (https://developer.chrome.com/docs/devtools/open/)

The fix is pretty straightforward: just update the code to use HTTPS explicitly, or better yet, make the links protocol-agnostic (https://www.paulirish.com/2010/the-p...-relative-url/)

If the issue were actually buried in the code—and I did try adding HTTPS just to test it, but no luck there!—then the game embedded via the iframe from the game distributor wouldn't show up in any other browser either, right?
But it works perfectly fine! It loads up without a hitch in every other browser I have installed on my PC, including Mozilla and Opera.
It even runs beautifully on mobile browsers and my Android box using Opera and Google Chrome.
Take this game, for instance—can you see it loading in your Google Chrome browser?

So, this leads me to believe it’s probably just a cache issue—though goodness knows how I'm supposed to fix that, since I feel like I've already tried every single known method for clearing a cache!

Take a look at what’s popping up in the Developer tools (specifically that Tab Network tab)... let me know if you see any error messages kicking in when it tries to fetch those items that aren't showing up...

Works fine on my end—Firefox, Edge, Google Chrome, and Opera. I'm running macOS Monterey 12.2.1.

I'm seeing the exact same thing in Google Chrome.

I wasn't actually questioning whether the page itself was loading—no, no!—but rather whether the game would actually launch and be playable within your specific browsers
Some of those games where I tried adding an "s" to the URL started working for a few folks, though for others, even that little tweak didn't do a bit of good.
But honestly, why should I lose any more sleep over this? It's simply not worth the headache! All those broken games that refuse to show up will just be pulled from the site entirely.

Yeah, the game actually loads up fine in all those browsers I mentioned.
