Right around the same time I noticed those warts, I started dealing with this really strange discharge
(it’s not even leaking onto my underwear; it just stays trapped inside)
Since I struggle with yeast infections quite a bit, I was honestly more preoccupied with the HPV side of things.
When I finally went in for an exam, the doctor ran all the necessary tests for HPV,
but when it came to the discharge, she just brushed it off as pus and didn't offer any further explanation—she didn't even mention
a treatment plan. This has been dragging on for two months now, and she’s being incredibly dismissive whenever I try to
ask her about it. I’m following the prescribed therapy for the HPV, but the discharge hasn't budged,
and you can actually see the specific spot where the tissue is swollen and producing pus.
I am at my wits' end here. I don't understand why my gynecologist is completely ignoring my concerns,
not even suggesting something as simple as medicated suppositories...
Has anyone else dealt with something like this? I've spent hours scouring the internet, but I can't find anything that explains
exactly what might be going on...

I totally forgot to mention—the discharge doesn't have any kind of smell and it’s completely white, so I'm pretty sure we aren't looking at trichomoniasis or some kind of bacterial vaginosis here...

😲😲😲😱😱

Has the concept of switching gynecologists even crossed your mind?
Who can say for certain how she actually manages your warts? Are you being treated with topical applications, or is she simply shoving pills down your throat? You really ought to be opting for topical treatments while simultaneously working on boosting your immune system.
It is imperative that you find a new doctor immediately.
If we are truly dealing with a pyogenic infection—and you claim the mucosa is swollen and producing pus—then the situation could have already escalated quite significantly.
Cut ties with that incompetent hack, even if you have to transition to a new clinic privately, and get some swabs done. I haven't the slightest clue what this might be, but it sounds deeply concerning.
I simply cannot fathom why you are still seeing her...😲

I'm with you on this.

I can't believe she didn't at least give you some antiseptic wipes.😕 A pus-filled infection and no antibiotics?😲 Unbelievable.😳

Unfortunately, I ended up switching over to her practice around November, mostly because a close friend swore by her. Right now, I’m dealing with some warts and using Aldara cream while
trying to get my immune system back on track. Honestly, the whole thing has been such a massive money pit that I’ve had to put my private specialist appointment on hold for a bit.
I’m going to try to squeeze it in as soon as possible, though... I have a nagging feeling it might actually be a bacterial vaginal infection, so I was curious to hear how
other women handled dealing with that kind of situation.....

Aldara?
Hmm, I have heard conflicting reports about its efficacy... personally, I purchased it once and had such a violent reaction that I ended up tossing $400 right out the window.
It honestly escapes my comprehension how that incompetent doctor of yours could possibly justify applying a cream as aggressive as Aldara to compromised tissue; you are essentially courting systemic toxicity at this point.
The protocol should always be to address the inflammation first before even considering HPV treatment, as this cream is far too potent for such reckless experimentation. Those warts aren't going anywhere, so there was no need to rush. How long are you currently applying this stuff?
Furthermore, you have every right to switch gynecologists well before your insurance cycle resets, and frankly, I strongly suggest you do so before things take a turn for the worse.
Please, just give it some serious thought and take decisive action immediately. From what I understand, you cannot simply layer these different therapies on top of one another; combining Aldara with a vaginal suppository is asking for trouble.
At the very least, try calling a different specialist to seek a second opinion and see if you can transfer your care. I am genuinely worried about your well-being right now...😢
Good luck.

I heard some rumor that I can't even switch OB-GYNs until I've been with them for at least a year... I honestly don't know if that's true. Right now, I'm just trying to scrape together enough cash so I can go see someone privately instead.
The warts are external, so I’m not putting the cream inside, but god, the stinging is driving me absolutely insane when I apply it. I only got the stuff
about ten days ago.
What’s really starting to freak me out over the last few days, though, is that the tissue down there is incredibly swollen—it's actually visible to the naked eye—and it looks nothing right.
I haven't even touched the cream for the last couple of days.
Does anyone know how much a basic exam would run if I skip the Pap smear and the ultrasound?

On that little paperwork slip you carry when you're switching doctors, there is actually a specific section where you can check a box stating you are leaving due to "misunderstanding," "disagreement," or some other nonsense, which grants you the freedom to change providers whenever you please; absolutely no one has the authority to force you to remain under the care of someone who provides substandard treatment.

Stop using Aldara immediately. I mean it. Since I suspect you’ve only gone through two or three of those tiny tubes, the damage isn't irreversible. Condylomas can wait; they aren't going anywhere. It seems obvious to me that you are applying it topically rather than internally, but even then, the cream has a much broader systemic effect.
If it weren't for my own experience—where my entire pelvic region was in agony—I wouldn't have suffered such an intense, near-allergic reaction after application. For instance, when I applied it, I didn't feel any burning initially; instead, the reaction hit me on the second day and persisted until the next application, eventually becoming a prolonged ordeal.

It is entirely possible that you will respond favorably to the cream—for example, I managed to get free topical treatments at the doctor's office even though Aldara failed me—but given the side effects you're describing...
I honestly don't know; perhaps borrow some money from a friend, as I have no idea what the local clinic fees look like, but you should check the gynecologist recommendation threads on this forum for pricing.
Once you have handled that infection, you can return to using the cream, but you must resolve that suppuration first.

Look, if you want my honest advice, put your health above everything else. Don't get hung up on whether it's "right" or "wrong" to switch OB-GYNs so quickly. If I were in your shoes and short on cash, I’d honestly just borrow some money to see a private specialist. It's not worth the risk.
Personally, I solved this by getting extra coverage through an insurance provider like Blue Cross Blue Shield, paying $37 a month for supplemental health benefits. That covers two specialized exams a year, routine checkups, and labs like Pap smears and swabs. Now, I go to this super high-end specialist twice a year; she does my Pap smear and I have the results in a few days. If I need swabs, I head over to the local community clinic. I don't mind spending those $37 because I’m walking into a top-tier office where I can book an appointment with just three days' notice—and if it's an emergency, they squeeze me in immediately. I spend my wait time, which is never more than 15 minutes, lounging in a comfy armchair reading a fashion magazine and sipping my Nespresso.😍
The community clinic is hit or miss; I've had some good days and some pretty bad ones there. It really depends on her mood, which isn't surprising given all the crazy complaints she deals with, and her sister is completely disorganized and clueless.🙄 Basically, once I figured out the logistics, I started using the public clinic for the "dirty work" like swabs, since the private specialist would charge me extra for those outside of my primary insurance policy.😛

Do yourself a favor and treat yourself like royalty whenever you can.

I ended up borrowing some cash from my sister, so I’m planning to call a private clinic first thing Monday morning to get myself scheduled. My cousin is being incredibly dismissive about her HPV situation, and honestly, it’s driving me nuts.
I’ve been trying to ask her all the right questions, but she just gives me these one-word answers like she couldn't care less. She actually had the nerve to tell me she’s "sure" it’s just a low-risk strain because of the warts she has, which is such a massive oversimplification—it doesn't work like that at all! Now she’s acting like even getting a proper type testing isn't worth the hassle... I'll keep you guys posted.

I tried asking her all sorts of questions, but she’s just being incredibly brief and dismissive. She even went as far as telling me she’s "sure" it’s just low-risk HPV because of the warts, which isn't how any medical diagnosis works. Basically, she doesn't even want to bother with typing tests... I'll keep you guys posted!!!

Genital warts are indeed caused by low-risk strains, but that doesn't mean you aren't also carrying high-risk types alongside them. This woman is clearly incompetent. In a more civilized country with actual medical standards, someone would have reported her to the state medical board and she’d be losing her license already. What a piece of work!😠
Hang in there and don't let her get to you. I really hope you can find a reliable gynecologist elsewhere.😉

Hang in there and stay strong. I really hope you're seeing a gynecologist you can actually trust.😉

I'm with you on this. Seriously, reading this, I can't even believe my eyes. Is it actually possible for a doctor to act this way toward patients? That definitely needs to be reported. As for switching doctors, you can do that whenever you want. Honestly, that’s probably your smartest move right now. You don't necessarily need to go private, either. Just hang in there and keep your head up. It'll all work out eventually.

Just wanted to give you all a quick heads-up—I just got back from my doctor's appointment. As I strongly suspected, it turns out I'm dealing with a vaginal infection, which was caused by...
The infection is spiraling out of control. I ended up having to use some vaginal suppositories just to manage the symptoms, and I finally went ahead and got a full bacterial culture done to figure out exactly what kind of mess I'm dealing with. As for any other treatments? Honestly, I’m drawing the line there. Not happening.
I’m officially switching to a milder cream because the one I was using is just way too harsh for my skin. And honestly? I am firing my gynecologist immediately. I've had enough!

It’s getting out of hand. I ended up picking up some Vagisil, and I just went ahead and got a lab test done to figure out exactly what’s going on. For now, I think I'm going to hold off on any other treatments until I know for sure.
I’m switching to an Aveeno cream because this current stuff is just way too harsh for me. Also, yeah... I am officially firing my gynecologist!

Way to go!👍

being left untreated for far too long. I was prescribed some vaginal suppositories and requested a bacterial culture to pinpoint the exact pathogen involved, and for the time being, I will decline
using the Aldare cream since it is far too aggressive for my system; furthermore, I am absolutely firing my gynecologist immediately!!!!!!!!!

I am truly relieved to hear that you have finally addressed this matter!
Go forth and good luck with everything else 👍

The infection just won't quit. It's totally flared up. I ended up grabbing some Vagisil and went ahead with a lab test to see what kind of bacteria we're actually dealing with here. For now, though? Yeah, I’m passing on any heavy treatment.
Switching to the Dove cream because the other stuff is just way too harsh. Also, yeah... I am officially firing my OBGYN. Period.

I’m reading this and honestly... I can't even. Just staring at my screen in disbelief. 😲
So, come on, just give us the name. Which OB-GYN is it that we all need to steer clear of?
Good luck out there!
