I'm 19 years old, and my biggest struggle right now is dealing with really thin hair...
I look at some professors sometimes and notice they have much thicker hair than I do...

I went in for a checkup, and they told me the shedding is being caused by excess oil buildup...

I've been using a product called Samson for about four months now, and I think my hair has started growing back slightly, though it's still falling out—just not as aggressively as before...

Is anyone else here using that specific product? Or does anyone know of something else that could help thicken things up faster?
I tried Pilfud too, but it just makes my hair feel incredibly greasy, which drives me crazy, and honestly, it hasn't been that helpful...

Does anyone have any advice or positive experiences to share?
Thanks.

www.regaine.com is such a drag to deal with. I honestly felt like it was actually working for me at one point, but I just couldn't keep up with the routine. Eventually, I gave up, so now I just give my hair a quick trim once in a while.

If you’re looking to jumpstart hair regrowth, the most effective options currently available on the market—if I recall correctly what Justin Fox mentioned earlier—would be minoxidil combined with a Nizoral shampoo. Regarding the minoxidil, you could go with something like Pilfud, which sits at a 2% concentration, though if I were in your shoes, I’d strongly suggest opting for Rogaine/Regaina at the 5% strength, or perhaps even something more potent if you can track it down. It is quite important to remember that this isn't an overnight fix; one really needs to exercise a great deal of patience here, as you typically won't start seeing any tangible results until about four months in, and sometimes it can even take a full year of diligent, twice-daily application to truly see the difference. As for the Nizoral shampoo, I’m not entirely certain about its availability in local US drugstores, but it does work wonders. 😉

Maybe you’ve got that dermatitis thing going on...
Supposedly, you can pick up some virus from a comb (usually from older folks or whatever) that causes follicle inflammation, which then makes them pump out way too much oil... sebum... whatever...
Then all that extra sebum starts causing your hair roots to slowly atrophy.

Some people recommend using Kuth products, which you can order through distributors who supply salons...
Though I'm not totally sure about any of that, I feel like there might be a connection to the liver or something...

Anyway, if anyone actually knows what they're talking about, let me know if I've gotten anything wrong so far.
