I’m curious—is washing my hair every single day actually bad for it? I’ve been using some L'Oréal shampoo lately. My hair is about mid-length, and it starts looking greasy just a couple of days after I wash it.

Just stick to washing. Blow-drying is actually way more damaging.

I wash my hair every single day. Literally daily. And yet, it stays healthy and looks great. I blow dry it too. I don't crank the heat up too high, but the blow drying is non-negotiable.

As for me, I wash my hair every single day, though I rarely bother with blow-drying it.

I’m right there with Betty Bennett10 on this one. I've got plenty of shampoo on hand for my daily wash—honestly, I don't bother hunting for anything "extra" or specialty; I just stick to whatever actually works for me, regardless of whether the bottle claims it's specifically for frequent use.

Of course it’s not harmful, especially if you're dealing with hair that gets oily fast. Just try to stick to some milder shampoos so you don't end up irritating your scalp.

I usually wash mine every other day.

I wash and blow-dry my hair every single day. It always looks incredibly shiny, healthy, and perfectly groomed. Honestly, I’m convinced it comes down to the sheer quality of my hair, but I also pour an absolute ton of effort and money into my maintenance routine.

Yeah, I've heard that before, but what's the catch?

Every third day... honestly, who actually has the time to commit to a daily routine? Besides, it isn't even necessary.... you barely use any moisturizer anyway...

The dry air from a blow dryer just sucks all the moisture right out of your hair.

Dry air? That’s an understatement...🙄

It's the intense heat from the airflow that actually does the damage.

Washing your hair every single day😲 😲 😲

I honestly don't think that's great for your scalp...
...but then again, dealing with greasy hair is just gross..

Mine is pretty decent, thank God, though it gets really dry despite all the effort I put in with shampoos and conditioners🙄

...I guess that's just how curly hair works🙄

And I NEVER, and I mean NEVER, blow-dry it
I just wash it every two or three days

...I think my hair would be absolutely trashed if I washed it daily and used a blow dryer on top of that😲

I mean, I can’t help but wonder why my dermatologist—the same one who actually diagnosed me with scalp psoriasis in the first place—was the very person telling me to just forget about washing my hair every day because apparently, it’s supposedly bad for the scalp... 😕 😕

I wash my hair every single day, honestly. Sometimes I even do it twice—once in the morning and again when I shower at night. I seriously can't imagine going two days without washing it, though nothing bad happens if I do. My hair is super long and healthy, too. The only thing is, I rarely ever use a blow dryer. Maybe once in a while just so I don't walk out the door with soaking wet hair...

Go with something mild—maybe a botanical shampoo? I was told L'Oréal can be a bit too aggressive for what you need.

I find myself washing my hair every two or three days—it’s become a bit of a ritual. Honestly, I think the main culprit behind how quickly it gets greasy is just the urban grime and all that smog hanging over the city...

And honestly, I think the shampoo plays a huge part in the whole thing too. Ever since I switched over to Dove, my hair stays manageable for at least two days without any drama. But by the third day? It’s just unbearable... so I usually end up having to wash it about twice a week, if that makes sense.

From my own experience, I can tell you that washing your hair every single day isn't necessarily bad for it. Personally, I wash mine every, every day—and sometimes even twice a day.
I would definitely suggest sticking to gentle shampoos. I personally use Dove for color-treated hair and I am completely satisfied with the results. Also, don't forget that your diet plays a huge role; the condition of your hair really depends on what you're eating.

I happened to stumble upon a certain kids' shampoo recently. Speaking from experience, I’ve been really happy with it, and even my close relatives have given it the thumbs up. We're talking about the Johnson baby shampoos—the honey version, the regular one, or the wheat germ variety. A few people in my circle actually used it to clear up dandruff, while for me, it just added a nice shine and left my hair feeling softer. I usually wash my hair twice a week. I definitely agree that what you eat plays a huge role too. 👍

My dermatologist gave me the same advice: "limit hair washing to twice a week, regardless of what shampoo you use."
I'm trying to stick to it since my hair quality isn't great, but it's easier said than done.
