Hey there.

First off, sorry for starting a new thread—I wasn't sure where else to post this. Basically, I'm drowning in photos and videos from my phone, plus years of files cluttering up my laptop. My current computer is honestly on its last legs, which isn't even the main issue here. I'm looking ahead. What’s the best way to store everything? Should I just grab an external hard drive to stash all my media in a drawer and let it sit as a backup? Or is there a better way to handle long-term storage? Any advice would be appreciated...

Yeah, just grab a 1-2TB external drive.

The other day, I picked up a 2TB Seagate Ultra Touch with that extra USB-C adapter at Los Angeles for just over $133. It’s been pretty seamless since I can plug the USB-C directly into my phone and just dive right into copying files or streaming 4K HDR content without any hassle. On my desktop, I’m seeing speeds around 140 MB/s for both reading and writing—which makes sense, considering the drive is totally empty, right? Honestly, it feels like a solid 2TB option for $133, though I have to wonder if those 4TB 2.5-inch drives might actually be a better value per terabyte, even if they tend to be a bit slower.
