Really solid film—it actually reminds me quite a bit of Training Day (same writer)... Christian Bale is in the lead role. I think it just hit the shelves at Best Buy here...

It’s not terrible, just a bit exhausting. Honestly, the whole movie felt like the directors were wandering around aimlessly without a clue what they were actually trying to say.

It’s a solid film, though I have to say, Christian Bale sounds a bit off when he tries to pull off that Latino accent.

Watched it twice already. It’s solid, might go back for a third 😁

Bale's overacting gets a little grating at times—but even so, it’s a fantastic movie...

It was a bit of a struggle adjusting to Bale at first, especially since I’d just seen him in 3:10 to Yuma a couple of days prior. Here, he’s playing someone who is essentially a complete stranger... The opening sequence does a solid job of establishing that sense of mental instability that drives his erratic behavior.
I wouldn't call it overacting; it’s more that it’s jarring to watch him inhabit a character this much of an idiot—one of those truly broken types sprinting toward self-destruction. As the story progressed, he became increasingly convincing as a genuinely disturbed individual in desperate need of help, all while the government knowingly sends him straight into the meat grinder.

The pacing might feel a little sluggish for some, but it lands on a satisfying note, which is what matters most in my book.

Sadly, our own history has certainly produced plenty of characters just like Bale's.

The movie was alright, and Freddy Rodriguez was absolutely stellar.

It’s not quite on the level of Training Day or Uncut Gems, but it’s definitely worth a watch.

Honestly, the movie was a slog. Just your typical story about some soldier who’s seen way too much shit and loses his mind because of it. No job, no peace, no chance at finding any kind of happiness even though he’s just looking for the simplest things, and then everything just falls apart. It was kind of exhausting to sit through; I was honestly just waiting for it to wrap up or for things to just fly by, or maybe hoping it would just go full-on brutal mode...
But nah, by the end I was just sitting there thinking, really? Did they have to have him die off like that? Way too predictable. All in all, it wasn't really my thing.

I saw it ages ago, but if my memory serves me right, it was just a pretty mediocre flick...

The movie itself is decent enough... I’ve always been a huge fan of Christian Bale, so I honestly can't wrap my head around why the writers felt he had to die at the end...👎 ,but I suppose you could look at it as a sort of poetic justice for everything his character put him through...👎

The movie was just too much work—couldn't even make it to the credits... (I usually try to power through everything, no matter how dumb it is, but this one actually broke my spirit halfway through...) so yeah, calling it mediocre at best!

That movie is an absolute masterpiece; it’s one of those rare gems you can watch a dozen times and still find something new to appreciate. Bale delivers a powerhouse performance, as per usual.

Great movie. That one scene where they’re with the Black guy and call the woman over—treating him like he's just "someone from work"—is gold. Then the kid comes home and she overhears them all dying of laughter with him? Pure comedy. Those two scenes alone make the whole film a winner. Bale plays this unstable guy dealing with PTSD, so it makes sense why things get so chaotic. The whole movie has such a great buddy-cop vibe, and that bond between the friends is captured perfectly. I’d give it an 8.5.

The guy who directed Training Day really nailed this one. And Christian Bale? Absolutely legendary performance.

Someone left a glowing review, so I decided to give it a watch.
Honestly? It’s easily the best film Ayer has ever made. Bale is absolutely killing it—just top-tier stuff—and it is about damn time Longoria actually got a decent role for once.
