Having trouble loading certain websites.

So, I’ve been running into this super weird thing lately. Whenever I try to load certain websites—and I mean totally different ones, not just one specific site—everything seems fine for maybe two or three seconds. Then, out of nowhere, the page just... refreshes itself? But instead of going back to where I was, it kicks me straight to a Google search results page filled with a bunch of random junk, weird code snippets, and ads that have nothing to do with what I was looking for (kind of like what you see in the pic here).



I honestly thought my PC had been hijacked by some nasty malware, so I ran a full scan with Malwarebytes, but it came up totally clean. My antivirus didn't flag anything either. I even tried updating Java and did a complete reinstall of Chrome, but nothing worked. I've been scouring the internet for an answer, but I can't find anything that matches what's happening to me.

I'm running Windows 10, using Chrome, and I've got Norton installed.

Is that USA Today site of yours still running as reliably as ever?

That link isn't functioning correctly, which is why it's defaulting back to a standard search instead of taking you where you intended to go.
It’s simply impossible to have both a .eu and a .com extension tucked into the exact same web address.

So, I'm clicking this link to a USA Today article, right? And it starts loading just fine, totally normal, but then—boom—two seconds later, it kicks me straight to whatever this mess in the screenshot is. It’s super annoying because it isn't just happening there; I'll be browsing other sites or even just doing a quick Google search and sometimes—not all the time, but enough to be a pain—it just pulls this same stunt on me.

...you should probably give a different browser a shot to see if that clears things up.

Thanks for the tip. I went ahead and installed Chrome, and honestly, it seems pretty solid so far. We'll just have to see how it holds up once I really start putting it through its paces.😉
