So, I went ahead and did a fresh install of Windows 10 about two months ago—same old account, same email and password as before...
I honestly thought my hard drive had finally kicked the bucket, but maybe that’s just being pessimistic... could be a permissions issue instead.

Does anyone know how I can fix this so I can actually get back into my files???
It won't let me grant myself access to the drive or change any permissions... it's just stuck. Any ideas on what I should do?

So this is my E: drive
I can't actually get into it—it's just stuck—but I can see some folder names popping up when I try messing around with the permissions... though, obviously, nothing changes and I'm still locked out.

Any ideas? Honestly, any help at all would be great, even if you're just guessing...

I actually managed to get some studying done... finally.
But honestly, everything’s still such a mess... I’m going to have to go back in and manually tweak some of these maps again. Just one thing after another...
I don't know, I think I messed around with the settings ages ago—way back when—and now everything is just a complete disaster... totally cluttered up. How do I even get all this stuff back to the factory defaults??

Does anyone know of an app—or maybe just some command line trick—that can reset an entire hard drive's permissions back to factory defaults? Like, making it look like I haven't touched a single thing... It’s driving me absolutely insane dealing with these nested subfolders and directories where I'm constantly getting "access denied" errors. I end up having to manually toggle permissions for every single little folder one by one, which is such a massive waste of time... Honestly, at this point, I feel like I might just have to migrate everything to a new drive and fix it all from scratch manually. I'd love to avoid that headache if possible, so if anyone knows a tool that can wipe and reset all permissions across folders, subfolders, files, etc., let me know.

Grab this

Run the file and give it permission to modify the registry.
Once that’s done, just right-click the drive and select BlackRock.

So, I’ve got this massive 50GB folder sitting on my hard drive, and for some reason, the system just won't let me touch the permissions... total nightmare. I actually managed to sneak around it using a diagnostic tool—managed to get in there and see all the files, and even grabbed ownership of the individual video files inside, so at least I can look at them now. But here’s the kicker: Windows Explorer is still being completely stubborn and won't let me view the actual folder itself. Since I finally have access to the contents, I just want to wipe the whole thing and be done with it, but even that's failing. I tried running Unlocker, but even that couldn't crack it...

Anyone got a recommendation on how to just kill this folder once and for all?
