How old are you, if you don't mind me asking...

Nah, if I follow logic—and considering I’m on those pills—both my legs should be swelling up, not just one... honestly, I'll take one leg over two any day! 😬

Same here. I went to see the doctor—everything else seems fine. Just had bloodwork done today, covering all the bases, so we'll see what comes back. My leg is acting up a bit... less so now, but it feels like a circulation issue.
p.s. I've been on birth control for quite a while—nearly a year and a half now. Could there be a connection?

A potential connection would be thrombosis. Is there any history of that in your family, or are you noticing specific symptoms? I'm asking because I don't know how much swelling or pain you're actually dealing with.

Look, I don't want to be an alarmist, but birth control can cause thrombosis (basically a blood clot, usually in the leg), and that can be incredibly dangerous!
For instance, I (a total worrier 😳) immediately jump to the worst-case scenario whenever my leg starts feeling weird!!! But that's just me, I don't want to scare you! Anyway, all of this is listed right there in the warning label on your pill pack!

To help prevent blood clots, taking Android is actually pretty good since it thins out your blood...
Katie, did you get a chance to go in for that actual foot exam yet?

Look, sure, but you can't just go popping Android when you're barely in your twenties just because you're on birth control. You'll end up doing way more harm than good!

Alright then, why don't you tell me exactly what kind of "massive" damage you think someone can actually do with an Android in their early twenties... I mean, anything at all...

🙄
Maybe do a little reading first. Honestly, if someone is dealing with vein issues or poor circulation, taking a single Android (or even just a decent baby aspirin) once a day is actually pretty beneficial.

🙄 Oh, please don't bother me just now—I am right in the middle of working on a presentation... what on earth do you think I'm doing here? 🙄 🤣

Look, you aren't going to drop dead from taking a single aspirin a day, but—and this is a big "but"—it isn't exactly the smartest move if, say, you have underlying kidney issues... though I highly doubt that's the case here. It’s most likely an issue with your circulation, but still... if you end up with a sensitive stomach after a while, even one pill a day can really mess things up. Please, don't go playing doctor on your own; you absolutely must see a physician first so they can figure out what's actually wrong. If you just ignore the primary issue, you might end up making a bad situation much worse... or simply let it pass by unnoticed. And if it does pass... well, how long exactly do you plan on being on aspirin? Until you're sixty-five?

Just try not to panic—you all are still young, after all—so maybe it's just some passing nonsense, but let's not be reckless about it either.

Also (copy-pasting this for you): If you've been on daily aspirin therapy and want to stop, it's important to talk to your doctor before making any changes. Suddenly stopping daily aspirin therapy can have a rebound effect that may trigger a blood clot, causing further complications.

There you go, ladies—I can certainly take reading tips from those who claim to be "more informed" than I am! If you happen to stumble upon anything new, do let us know. Because, truly... every bit of advice is welcome. Who knows, perhaps we even have someone here in our little neighborhood with medical expertise? 🙂

Let's not fight🙂—we're all here to help each other out.

So, first off, there’s no real family history of this, except my mom deals with some pretty bad circulation issues.
I've seen an internist and I'm just waiting on the test results now.
The doctor didn't think it was a blood clot because the pain isn't intense enough, so she mentioned it might be some kind of narrowing in the vessels, an artery, or maybe even a nerve issue. We'll see what happens once I get further testing.

To give you an idea, my leg actually feels okay today compared to previous days, but I'm not taking any chances—who knows what's actually going on?

Anyway, I'm a massive hypochondriac at heart, so...

As for taking Android, I definitely tried playing doctor on my own once and ended up making things worse...

Anyway, thanks so much, ladies.🙂🙂

Yes, an Android can only do so much to help on a daily basis.

Regarding the swelling issue, a close friend of mine dealt with a nearly identical situation. She was struggling with it for months, and doctors couldn't for the life of them figure out what was actually causing it—though, if I'm being honest, I can't quite recall how the whole thing wrapped up😁, but in any case, it eventually cleared up.

Go educate yourself. Seriously. Anyone dealing with vein issues or poor circulation taking one Android (or even a better quality aspirin) a day is actually doing themselves a favor.

If Android is so damn harmless like you all claim, then why aren't we handing out bottles of it alongside Yasmin? If it’s so safe, why bother risking anyone getting a blood clot at all🙄! You can't just pop any medication on your own for "prevention" (and how long do you think you'd be taking it? For years? Do you have any idea what that does to your stomach??!?!😲)

Hey, we aren't here to bicker or anything, we're just trying to help each other out by swapping info, haha!🙂 Katie, let me know once you get those test results back...

Fair point! 😁 Just gotta be careful that we don't end up doing more harm than good chatting online... I mean, circulation is serious business. If someone's struggling with that, it’s nothing to joke about. Katie, I'm crossing my fingers that it turns out to be some minor thing that clears right up!!! 😉

Carl Thompson6, didn't you end up seeing a doctor? Is yours still swollen?

True... I haven't quite gotten around to it yet... Honestly, I think I'll be fine if I just wait a few days to check it out... I just didn't have the chance to head over there right away.

I think low-dose aspirin (100 mg) is good for circulation.
Do you think taking it every couple of days is alright?
I used to take a full 500 mg dose every single day, but then I realized that probably wasn't the smartest move. I stopped, and just a few days later, my leg started aching and feeling a bit numb—specifically the one where I already have a varicose vein on the front of my shin.
Now I’m worried this might be happening because I quit the aspirin.🙂😕 : worried :

P.S. My leg isn't bruised and the vein hasn't bulged out yet; it's just the pain and the tingling.

I’ve been taking aspirin daily for about four months now, mostly because it's been that long since my major surgery. My doctor suggested it just to keep things moving smoothly and prevent any circulation issues—but seriously, you really need to check in with your own physician before trying anything like that!
