It’s honestly a joke that this movie doesn't have its own dedicated thread, so I guess it's finally time to fix that injustice.

For years, people have been pushing this narrative that it's some massive failure of a movie. I just can't get behind those views, if I'm being honest. I don't care about haters.

It’s also pretty cool to see comments lately showing there's still a group of cinephiles who absolutely adore this film. Count me in. And don't even get me started on the soundtrack. It's just perfect. I’d especially recommend hunting down that leaked 4-CD set—it really gives you the full picture of the Williamson masterpiece. After all this negativity meant to balance out actual appreciation with endless, sarcastic cynicism, maybe we should start this thread by remembering some of those iconic scenes and musical themes:

PETER PAN IS BACKKKKKKKKKKK

SOUNDTRACK - Remembering Childhood
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9Zi1KpQjTg
(a glorious 11 minutes)

SOUNDTRACK - WHEN YOU'RE ALONE

This one is from the ultimate 4-CD version (an unused track):
Demi Lovato sings Childhood (Unused song from HOOK)

A few thoughts from the fans:

I was Peter Pan.

The ultimate freedom of flying around.

Unencumbered by The stress and obligations of Life.

This extraordinary gift is powered by happy thoughts.

Peter forgot how to fly because he became too distracted with the parts of life that don't actually bring happiness.

That is why it's so triumphant that he remembers how to fly.

All The Greatest things in Life Come fra happiness and Love, and not from fear.

Remember the beauty of Childhood.

Life is a game.

---

Anyway, this is just the start. I'll probably post more when the nostalgia hits again. Contributions are welcome, I guess. 🙂

Captain Hook was a perfect fit for Dustin Hoffman. 👍 It’s an entertaining movie, and honestly, it hasn't gotten old no matter how many times I've sat through it. My favorite part has to be those aerial shots of the island—the way they captured the landscape was stunning. They also did a great job bringing those cartoonish effects, like the compass, to life on screen. 🙂

I really have to give Dennis Jackson6 credit for starting this thread. This is easily one of the best all-ages movies out there.

It’s such a beautiful film with some truly heartfelt messages.

I hope nobody takes it personally when I say that I actually prefer the Captain Hook movie and its storyline over the original Peter Pan tale. That message about never losing touch with our childhood ideals—that sense of playfulness and those "happy thoughts" that keep us going even when we grow up and are expected to be "serious"—it just makes this story feel special regardless of how old you are.

"I hate, I hate, I hate Mickey Mouse!" 😁

Whenever he's on TV—it’s an absolute must that I watch.
