I would be incredibly grateful if anyone could offer some advice here. For the last few months, I’ve noticed this brownish discharge, but honestly, I didn't pay much attention since there was no pain involved. However, over the past month, the pelvic pain has become absolutely unbearable. I finally went to see my gynecologist, and she ran all the standard tests—bacterial infections, STIs, pregnancy—but everything came back totally clear. She couldn't find anything abnormal at all. I have a follow-up appointment this Monday, and I told her straight up that I think it might be a hormonal issue and asked about starting birth control or something similar. She played it cool, basically saying "maybe," but she wants to wait a bit longer before deciding. Frankly, I don't have the patience to wait; the pain is just too intense, so I’m going to insist she prescribes something immediately. On top of all this, my period has been completely irregular lately, consistently showing up a few days earlier than usual. If anyone has any insight or advice, please help—I feel like my doctor is being plain stupid. 🙂

Lol, obviously I do. I just really need this pain to stop right now, so I'm looking for some advice in the meantime.

Wait, what? What do you mean waiting?😕

The plan: step one—get a new doctor... yeah, I’m totally with you on that one...👍

Honestly, I went through the exact same hell—the spotting, the crazy heavy flows, the bloating, the absolute hormonal rollercoaster... my inner monologue was basically just screaming "those days of the month" "kill, kill, kill," it was enough to make me pass out. I was popping whatever pills I could find and I was just over it. So, I finally went to see my OB-GYN, poured my heart out 🙂, laid out the whole mess, and basically told her she better fix this soon if she didn't want me to actually murder someone in the near future... after the exam, she switched me over to the Yasmin pill (I'd been on Yasminelle for two years prior) and I became a completely different person 😍... the murderous urges? Gone. That little dark voice in my head just vanished 🤷 and now I actually like my life. No more spotting, no more agonizing periods, no more bloating or whatever else... sure, maybe things get a little fuller down there 🙂 but hey, at least you don't have to go see a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills and drop a massive amount of cash to get them enhanced... 😂

So yeah, find a new gynecologist, be brutally honest about what's happening, and... good luck... 😁

Thanks for the advice, ladies. I’m going to try to find a new OB-GYN as soon as possible; it’s such a relief to hear there’s actually a way out of this mess. 🙂

By the way, Michelle Wilson60, I have a quick question regarding birth control pills. Is it actually true that you can't take certain types if you smoke? I’ve been scrolling through some forums and now I’m just completely confused. Apparently, you’re supposedly only allowed to take the POP mini pill—the one with just progesterone—in those cases.

Sounds to me like your prolactin levels are acting up—that pituitary hormone can be a total nightmare when it spikes, causing that brown spotting right before or during your period. It’s basically the stress hormone, so it usually flares up whenever life gets hectic. You should probably get it checked; most doctors have you test on day 21 of your cycle. Also, Vitex tea is actually amazing for balancing hormones—I know it helps a ton if things aren't totally out of whack, so maybe give that a shot? And honestly, just find a new OB-GYN—the way yours is handling this seems pretty unprofessional.

Carol Parker84 said:Btw Mia, quick question regarding birth control pills

Okay, I’m totally risking a ban here—if not from the mods, then definitely from the admin who already makes it pretty clear she doesn't care about my need to point out how clueless people can be:

WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!?!?

Your very first post on this entire forum is right here in this thread, and you're choosing to ask Mia—who literally has six (!) posts to her name—a question that's directly tied to your actual health?!?!?

Like, seriously, what were you thinking?

What gives you the right to believe ANYTHING someone with a six-post history says? You don't know a single thing about the person behind that handle—their expertise, their intentions, NOTHING! Even if they had more posts, you (unless you're some kind of clone, which I doubt...) wouldn't have any way of forming an educated opinion on them since you just signed up today!!!

But no, you decide to drop a question like that on her... 🙄

I’m asking because I wanted to hear from people who actually have experience with the pill. Geez, calm down—of course a doctor would be the one to prescribe it, not me. I’m just asking out of pure curiosity because I’ve been reading up on it.

No way, sweetie,
she’s just taking exactly what her doctor prescribed.

You should check out the massive women's health thread on here—it's packed with advice on which OB-GYNs are actually worth seeing! Go ahead and do a little digging to get informed,
chat with your girlfriends about it,
and hopefully you can snag an appointment with a new doctor by Monday!

Whoa, slow down there, ladies... what’s the big deal now? Why does everything have to be such a massive production right out of the gate? 😂...Let's take a breath here. Honestly, I don't care how many posts I've made or how long I've been hanging around this forum—it doesn't mean I have the energy to sit here and reply to every single little thing someone throws my way... it's totally irrelevant... ☕

The real answer is that I can't tell you anything about smoking because I don't smoke. I don't touch coffee, and I stay far away from booze—you know, that liquid devil 😁—so when I was talking to my OBGYN, that wasn't even part of the conversation... Look, it's not like I'm trying to "prescribe" anything to anyone—I don't want to and I certainly can't—I'm just sharing what I went through with these issues...
It’s actually a pretty good idea to go see a different doctor, lay out your symptoms, and see where that goes... And yeah, definitely mention the smoking thing... (Pro tip: use the search bar, it's your best friend: look up the Yasmin pill thread on this forum)...

😍

Okay, so I’ve got a situation. Actually, it’s more of a "total meltdown" situation because I am such a massive panicker when it comes to this stuff. Basically, after my last period, I noticed this really unpleasant discharge. So, naturally, I ran to the drugstore and picked up some Vagisil pills. After using them for about seven days, now I’m dealing with brown discharge and itching. Can someone please tell me what is going on before I literally bury myself two miles underground? I am in absolute agony!
