How do I create a poll?

Quick question: how do I start a new thread that has a poll right at the top?

When you’re getting ready to start a new thread, look right under the main text box where you write your opening message. In the section labeled "extra option," you'll see a checkbox for "Create a poll." You just need to select "Yes, create a poll with this topic" and then pick how many different responses you want to offer—it usually defaults to four, but you can adjust that if you have something more specific in mind.

Once you hit that "Submit new topic" button, the site will take you to a fresh page where you can actually type out the various choices members will be voting on.

Now, just a little heads-up: depending on how much time has passed since you first launched the thread, you might still be able to tack on a poll later. The window for doing that is set by the site administrator, so it's best not to wait too long if you've got your heart set on one.

I set up a poll where I intended for people to pick five different shows, but whenever someone opens it, they're only given the option to select one single answer from the ten choices provided.
