How do I delete photos?

I’ve got these old listings over on Craigslist where I attached a bunch of photos, and apparently, I’ve gone and hit my absolute limit for storage—I haven't the slightest clue what the exact metric is, but I've clearly maxed it out. It’s all tied up in those dusty old posts from ages ago, which means now, when I try to put up anything new, I can't attach a single image. It makes perfect sense, of course, since I've filled my quota, but I’m feeling a bit stuck because I honestly have no idea how to go about deleting the images from those vintage ads or, more importantly, how to actually clear out some space.

Did you have your photos hosted over on Flickr?
Or maybe somewhere else where you have a registered account and your own personal gallery?

Anyway, just upload the images here and then paste the code directly into your forum post. 😉

No, I think I may have misspoken there. What I meant was that I wasn't actually taking photos myself; I was just grabbing product images from the web—you know, like a shot of some Johnson & Johnson cream from a Google search—and then just uploading those directly to my listing.

Here is an example:

Lisa Nelson70, just toss those photos onto Imgur (you could also use Photobucket, Flickr, or whatever else works) and grab the image code to drop into your post. Or, honestly, just paste the URL and hit that little picture icon to embed it.

Why don't you just reach out to the moderator in charge?

I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for since it's a bit vague—but I am certain that when you edit, you can just delete whatever you want and swap it out for something else.

The "issue" here is that you’ve been uploading your photos directly as attachments to Reddit—meaning they're hosted right here on the site. Because of that, you're hitting a ceiling on how many individual attachments you can actually attach to a post.

Try clicking ->here<- to see if you have the option to clear out some of those old files. Honestly, though? It’s pretty likely the regular users don't have the permissions to do that—you might need a mod for it.

Anyway, moving forward, I’d suggest just using one of those free, easy image hosting sites instead. It saves everyone the headache. Personally, I usually just stick with Imgur. 👍

Thanks. I already tried following that link you sent—I did that quite a while ago, actually—but there isn't any option to delete anything in there. It’s funny, because whenever I used to upload this way in the past, the system would always give me a prompt asking if I wanted to clear out some old files to make room for the new ones. But apparently, that only works if I haven't hit my full quota of eleven or whatever the limit is, and since I've maxed it out now, the option just won't show up. Anyway, let's not overcomplicate things; I realize now I was doing it the hard way and it was my own mistake. As for cleaning up the mess I've made, I'll just have to reach out to the moderators and see if they can help.
