I would love to jump in and add my thoughts to this discussion here!😁
So, I find myself in need of a little bit of guidance regarding Microsoft Excel for the following tasks:
-Please display the total price for each item converted into USD, ensuring that you use a cell containing an absolute reference for the exchange rate calculation.

-Add a new column to the table that calculates the sales tax on the prices (set at 23%), making sure to use a cell with an absolute reference for the tax rate.

-On a separate worksheet titled "Loan," please calculate the monthly installment for a loan amount of $6667 over a period of 2 years with an annual interest rate of 5%.

This is actually for one of my college courses, and while I am certain these are likely the most elementary functions imaginable, I must admit I am feeling quite lost on how to actually execute them! I currently have a spreadsheet filled with various computer prices, and now I am tasked with completing everything listed above. If anyone could kindly walk me through this process step-by-step, I would be immensely grateful, as I am a complete novice when it comes to Microsoft Excel... thank you all so very much in advance! 🙂

Oh, and one more quick thing—could someone explain how one goes about renaming a worksheet?

I simply cannot get to this right this second—my schedule is a bit of a disaster today. I’ll touch base later this evening, provided someone doesn't beat me to the punch.
In the meantime, you really ought to dive into this tutorial; it should clear up just about everything you were asking about. Here is the link for you.

I have already visited that link, but I must admit I am still feeling quite lost, as I haven't quite managed to uncover any actual solutions for the issues mentioned above 😢. Thank you all regardless... however, if anyone could possibly lend me a hand, I would be immensely grateful, as this has become rather urgent and I am simply struggling to find the right guidance online

It might be wise for you to start by mastering some fundamental Microsoft Excel functions.

To get you started, I’ve put together these first two examples:

Once you take the time to observe how the formulas are actually structured and entered, you should find that solving the third query becomes quite straightforward on its own.

copperpilot17!
My apologies for my absence yesterday; a rather pressing matter cropped up that required my immediate and undivided attention. However, I have finally managed to tackle that assignment for you. You can download the file via Dropbox right here:

I already checked that link, but I’m still struggling to wrap my head around it—I haven't quite found the solutions for the problems listed above. Thanks anyway... could someone please help me out? It's getting pretty urgent and I'm having no luck finding any answers online..

What I posted above is indeed the solution to the homework. As for your comment about still being confused, we really ought to take this one step at a time, moving through the logic incrementally. Since I don't know which specific concepts you've mastered and which ones are tripping you up, you'll need to ask us questions one by one so we can pinpoint exactly where the confusion lies.
I am a bit concerned that providing such an intensive "tutoring session" might clutter the forum threads, so just in case, why don't you send me a private message instead?

Joshua Garcia31! Check your inbox, I sent you a PM.

Don't pay any attention to the formula in that example I uploaded; I was rushing through it and totally botched the logic... honestly, the main thing is just making sure you grasp the actual methodology behind entering the formulas so you can tackle the assignments on your own.
As far as the tuition or any financial assistance goes, feel free to reach out if you need anything.🙂

I am truly grateful for all the helpful responses and the effort you have put in 🙂
. Unfortunately, I am still feeling a bit stumped regarding how to integrate a sales tax column into my price list when I am pulling data from several different retailers—I simply cannot seem to figure out how to calculate the sales tax for every single one of those prices within a single column. To make things easier, I am going to provide the entire, complete assignment right here (though I have already managed to tackle the loan portion, so thank you ever so much for that!), and if anyone feels inclined to solve the whole thing, I would be incredibly thankful! Furthermore, if you could kindly explain exactly how to utilize those absolute cell references, it would be a lifesaver. Here is the prompt:

Search online for prices from three different US retailers for a Dell laptop (any model)

On the first worksheet, create a table featuring these prices from the various retailers; use the retailer names for the rows, and use columns for the cash price and the warranty price;

In the final row, calculate the average price across all the retailers

Format the table however you like, making sure to use colors, fonts, and borders

Create a chart that illustrates the price comparison between the different retailers

Add a column to the table that calculates the sales tax on the prices (set at 23%) by using a cell with an absolute reference for the tax rate

Using the Conditional Formatting tool, set it so that any amounts less than $1667 are displayed with a bold font on a yellow background

On a second worksheet titled "Loan," calculate the monthly payment for a loan amount of $6667 over 2 years at an annual interest rate of 5%

I believe I understand everything except for that sales tax part, where to place it, how to handle absolute cells, and that specific task involving USD from a previous assignment=(

Thank you so much!!!!!!👍 It turns out I’ve been doing everything completely wrong from the very beginning because I totally misinterpreted the assignment—specifically regarding how to set the prices—so naturally, I couldn't get the sales tax to balance properly either... now I am going to dive deep into the tax codes and spend a little more quality time mastering Microsoft Excel.. thank you ever so much! 🙂

It looks like I’ve been doing everything wrong from the very start, mostly because I completely misread the assignment—specifically regarding how to set the pricing and all that.

It’s pretty obvious you misread the brief, though, to be fair, the instructions weren't exactly laid out clearly in the first place. The person who assigned this is actually kind of famous for being this disorganized. I wonder if they tend to hand out all their other projects in such a messy, convoluted way too?
