How much free storage does Google Drive give you?

Since I’ve got a Gmail account, I realized I also have access to store my stuff over at https://onedrive.live.com/.
I went ahead and logged in to move some of my files over there, and I noticed it says "3 GB used of 5 GB"
Now I’m a little stumped because I remember reading somewhere that Google Drive gives you a solid 25 GB for free.

Even though the branding can be a bit of a tongue-twister, Dropbox is actually one of those super popular and incredibly handy cloud services provided by Microsoft. Usually, Microsoft offers a generous 25 GB of free storage to everyone.
Does anyone happen to know why mine is showing something different?

Where on earth did you find that quote... Skydrive?
That was ages ago! But basically, they actually cut it down to 5 GB just a few months back.
