How to access the boot menu?

So, I’m totally stuck—I can't get into the boot menu on my Toshiba Satellite laptop. It used to be a bit of a struggle before, but I could always make it work somehow... now? Absolutely nothing. I’ve been hammering away at > like a maniac, but no dice.
What should I try next?🙂

I even tried messing with the boot priority through Microsoft, but nope—absolutely nothing!! It just completely ignored my changes!!

try hitting delete (it's right there on the key), or maybe give F1 or F2 a shot

I've already given f1 and f2 a shot—haven't pulled the trigger on deleting anything just yet—but thanks for the tip, I'll let you know how it goes!

Are your F1 and F2 keys white or blue?

If they are blue, you will need to hold down the "Fn" key while pressing F1 or F2. 🤷

Tried everything and honestly? Nothing works. They aren't blue—my laptop screen is totally fine, colors look consistent everywhere else. I’ve seriously tried every single fix under the sun... the only thing left to try is chucking this thing out a tenth-story window.

I’m dealing with a pretty ridiculous laptop situation. When I’m sitting in the Boot, the F-keys work exactly how they should. But once the laptop is actually "on"—you know, running Windows—everything goes sideways. If I want to close a window, I can't just hit Alt+F4; I have to press Alt+Fn+F4 instead. I know there’s probably a way to toggle this setting in the BIOS or something, but honestly? I just can't be bothered to deal with it right now...

Well, couldn't you just plug in a USB keyboard and call it a day?
just hammer down F1, F2, and Delete all at once simultaneously (though maybe someone should hold your hand through that part if you can't manage it on your own)

The keyboard works perfectly fine, but honestly, lugging it around with me just isn't practical anymore. 😁 Plus, after two years of using it, I’ve fully adapted to my setup. When I have to jump on someone else's desktop or a laptop, it feels incredibly weird not having to hit the Fn key to get things done.

so I'm just getting to this now. It's a Toshiba Satellite C660D-12U.

Basically, half my keyboard is dead—just straight up unresponsive.

I actually tried remapping some keys to f12 just to see if that would help, but nope—no luck there either.
