How to fix a mouse sensor issue?

I find myself wondering whether it is feasible to repair the laser sensor within a wireless mouse, or if a service center would simply insist on replacing the entire unit with a new one.😕😕😕
I would be most grateful for any insights you might offer.👍

You get a new one... no point in messing around with them.
