Hey everyone,
I’m 24, and after going through a pretty brutal rough patch in my life recently, my hair started thinning out way faster than I expected—I first noticed the signs right after New Year's, and honestly, it hasn't let up since. On top of that, I'm starting to see these fine lines on my forehead and around my mouth... you know, those little creases that show up when you frown but vanish after a few minutes.
So, naturally, I went to see some dermatologists, and they diagnosed me with androgenetic alopecia. The weird thing is, nobody in my family has dealt with hair loss this early. And even though the receding at my temples is the most obvious part, the thinning is happening all over my scalp. I’ve gone through the whole drill—blood work for hormones, checking vitamin levels, minerals, the works—and I’ve been hitting the supplements hard where needed, but nothing seems to be helping.
Looking back, I remembered how people call Coenzyme Q10 the "fountain of youth" or whatever. About two years ago, I was taking it for about six months (total amateur move, I know 🙄) because I was also diagnosed with Peyronie disease. Back then, I stumbled onto this study online that showed really promising results using Q10 specifically for treating Peyronie.
What's eating at me now is this thought: is it possible that taking Q10 for that long actually tanked my body's natural production? Could that be why I'm seeing these changes in my skin and hair lately?
From what I can tell by searching around, it seems like absolutely nobody in America actually gets their Q10 levels measured. Do any of you guys know anyone who has had that tested, or have any idea where I could even go to get it done?
