HP DeskJet "print spooler service not working" error?

Hey,
I've had this printer-scanner combo for about two years now. It's been perfectly fine for what I need. It sat idle for maybe two or three months, but when I fired it up today to print something, Word threw that wizard at me saying the printer isn't connected 😲
I went into my settings to add the device, but this popped up 🙂

Any ideas? I could really use some help here

start-run-services.msc-enter
Find the print spooler, right-click it, and hit start.
