I’ll be honest, I’m pretty much a total novice when it comes to printers—it’s definitely not my area of expertise! So, I was hoping maybe someone here who actually knows their stuff could point me in the right direction. I’m looking for some lowdown on the print quality and what it’s actually like to use this thing day-to-day. Also, does anyone have a handle on what the ink situation looks like? Specifically, how much am I looking at for the official brand cartridges versus those cheaper generic ones? Most importantly, do you think it's actually worth dropping about $400 on this particular model? 🙂

All I know is that the generic inks for that model run about $10, and honestly? They work just fine. They get the job done perfectly enough

I’ve actually got an HP Envy series printer myself and I use it constantly. I've been running nothing but generic ink in it for over six months now, and it hasn't skipped a single beat. No issues at all!

I own that printer myself and am very happy with it, but could you please tell me where you found those third-party inks? I haven't had any luck finding them in Cleveland.

You've basically got three ways to go here:

Refillable cartridges that come with the CHIP

Non-refillable cartridges without the CHIPS

The Refill Kit
