So, we have a meeting with the leadership coming up soon. Honestly, I’m feeling completely drained by the whole thing. They probably have certain expectations of me, and frankly, I’m second-guessing everything. This is a party that genuinely wants to improve life for everyone in the States, but my initial rush of euphoria has totally evaporated, leaving me feeling awkward. We’re trying to build something new—something untainted by the kind of corruption I absolutely loathe. It’s a struggle because, at my core, I’m just a modest person and a true altruist; I’d do anything for a good cause, even if it meant facing jail time. But now? Now I’m worried they might actually reject me because of those very traits. I truly believe in this group, though. I see that they genuinely want to fight the good fight. It’s just that I deal with so much internal insecurity in general, let alone with matters like this. What am I supposed to do?

God, I’m not saying it here. I’d be too embarrassed. What if they actually figure out who we're talking about? What are you even looking for—membership info or something?

So you join a political party just to split off from them later on... 😬

Honestly, just keep chasing those same old ghosts like you always have, whether you're running with a party or flying solo...
And what are you even worried about regarding officials? They aren't saints just because they hold some office...
With an attitude like yours, you're basically just handing them more fuel for their egos, making them think they're some kind of divine authority over the bureaucrats and the party elites...
Look, you just have to stay tough... because at any given moment, you can always just walk away and quit the party entirely 😁

Keep chasing those old ghosts if you want to. Whether you're running with a political party or flying solo, it's your choice.
And what kind of "persecution" are we talking about from officials? They aren't saints just because they wear a badge or hold office.
With an attitude like yours, you're just feeding their egos—making them feel like some untouchable gods serving the party interests.
Just stay sharp. At the end of the day, you can always walk away from a party whenever you want. 😁

Thanks. Honestly, I shouldn't be this worried. I have a degree; I’m not some person off the street looking for trouble. They should show me some respect. But my mother keeps scaring the life out of me. It's ridiculous. She tells me I'm not cut out for this, and I just fold immediately like a total amateur. She's just jealous, really. Pathetic. She constantly tells me, "Don't say this to them," or "Don't mention that."

That’s all fine by me, I suppose,

but you really need to pay close attention to what they're actually saying...

and then, of course, just go ahead and pay your membership dues.😁 👍

So what exactly are you planning to do in politics if you’ve already gone through the trouble of getting a college degree? 😁 😁 😁

I guess I’m just not cut out for politics. Every time I try, someone finds a way to strip away my confidence. It’s non-existent at this point.

Does anyone actually have techniques for building up self-confidence? It always seems to slip through my fingers. I’ll have all this genuine motivation ready to go, then I’ll have one conversation with my mother and everything just falls apart

I guess you have to wonder if it’s actually worth joining a political party, especially one that's already in power or at least looks like it might win soon.

Joining some tiny, fringe group just feels like a total waste of time to me...

just listen closely to what they're actually saying...

and pay your subscription fee😁 👍

Google.. that’s how you made your fortune before jumping ship from your own party..

.. and now you lecture everyone on naivety and how people were fleeced during the transition to democracy.. that sort of thing.. 🙏 😁

Well, please, stay far away from politics and just go pick up some knitting or something instead😁
it would be much more productive 😉

and if you want an actual original recipe for building up your self-esteem...
all you ever have to do is shout "STAY STRONG!"

and I promise it works... every single time you say it, your confidence starts climbing...
so just memorize that little mantra because it truly is magic...
stay strong! 👍

Why are you getting defensive on her behalf? Honestly, we could use more people like this—individuals who actually still hold onto some semblance of ideals and possess the drive to see them through.
It’s a damn shame there aren't more of us left; most people's "ideals" these days are nothing more than empty chatter on a local dive bar's message board or some forgotten corner of Reddit.

Look, let’s be real, politics is definitely not the arena where you go to chase some grand, utopian vision...
it basically drags you back down to earth and tells you straight up to stop dreaming with your head in the clouds...

The idea of perfection is completely out of reach anyway...

If a woman has her college degree, she’s already got everything she needs to pursue her own personal ideals without ever touching politics, just for herself—because if she actually enters the political ring, she'll quickly realize it isn't anything like what she imagined...
but hey, everyone knows what's best for their own life😉
