Three weeks ago, I had some oral sex that was a bit rough. A few times, I felt some scratching from a finger, though nothing major. After that, there was some brief penetration, but I stopped because we didn't use protection. I bled quite a bit. Since yesterday, I've been feeling a slight stinging sensation and some mild itching. I plan on seeing my gynecologist in the next few days. I am wondering, what are the chances of infection if my partner happens to be positive? Thank you.

So, here’s the deal... I went in for my routine checkup and turns out my liver enzymes are a bit wonky. It’s just the ALT and AST—ALT is slightly up, and AST isn't doing anything too crazy, but still. Naturally, they sent me off for hepatitis markers, but then my infectious disease specialist mentioned he’d run a control for HIV too... and now I’m sitting here wondering if he’s just being thorough since I'm already at the clinic, or if my results are actually hinting at something else.

There is a risk here, especially since you mentioned an open wound and bleeding.
You absolutely need to get tested for Hepatitis too. I'm not entirely sure about the incubation period or if you can still get the Hepatitis B vaccine at this stage. Unfortunately, there isn't one for Hep C.
I don't quite follow where the bleeding came from.😕 You mentioned you were having oral sex.

He scratched me with his finger. It didn't bleed for long. I don't believe my partner is infectious, but you can never be entirely sure. I just let a wave of nasty panic take over.

Because hepatitis is an incredibly resilient and widespread virus that can hang around outside the body for quite a while. Think about it this way: if you have a tiny cut on your hand and touch a surface contaminated with the virus, you can get infected.
Since he was inside you, even if just for a moment, and pre-ejaculate is definitely present, there’s a very real possibility the viral concentration is high enough to cause an infection.

Look, just because the penetration wasn't prolonged doesn't mean it wasn't sex. It was sex. In the future, run the other way when you encounter guys who are aggressive and reckless—guys who don't give a damn about anyone else's safety or their own, acting like they're invincible. I hope you come out of this without any serious complications, but moving forward, stick to your guns regarding condoms and don't let some guy's unwashed hands anywhere near your private areas.
You absolutely need to get all your screenings and a Pap smear done immediately! Guys like that are walking petri dishes. And if you're doing oral, use a condom. There are tons of bacteria, like gonorrhea, that can cause nasty infections in your throat.
