Just like anyone else here, I tend to jump around different subreddits and topics...
There are still 15 days left in the year, but unless I get hit with another ban, my annual report looks like this:
I’ve only ever been flagged on one specific subreddit; everywhere else, I'm totally clean.
Out of five total strikes this year, all five came from the exact same moderator, even though there are eight mods on this sub. The last two happened within six minutes of each other on the same thread... and they weren't even right after I posted, but like ten hours later. (By that logic, someone could just dump a bunch of strikes on one thread because a single debate went off-topic, by the way. From what I can see, others only got one strike while I got two)
I'm not actually filing an appeal—those are pretty pointless anyway. I just wanted to point out how weird it is that only one mod is handing out penalties... while the other seven on this thread, and everyone else on other threads, don't see anything wrong with my posts.
Anyone else noticed this kind of thing? Just one moderator being overly zealous, or am I overthinking it? Seems a bit odd to me, right? 🤷

Could you maybe flesh out what you actually have in mind for this topic, assuming you aren't just looking for a place to vent about getting banned or complaining about the mods? Because if we don't steer it somewhere else, we’re just going to end up with a thread where everyone is just comparing notes on who got flagged by whom and where.

Since this subforum is literally titled "Messages, complaints, comments," I figured it was fine to bring up some stuff about the moderation—you know, pointing out if things feel weird, over the top, or just plain wrong. I wanted to give everyone a heads-up on what's happening and see if anyone else was seeing the same thing.
If there’s an issue, shouldn't we at least talk about it and maybe fix it so it stops?
But hey, clearly I missed the memo... apparently, complaints aren't allowed, and you can't even critique the mods in a thread that has "comments" right in the title.
Whatever. Maybe next year will be different.
(By the way, I didn't even say where or who gave me the warnings... it's just strange that I'm only getting flagged by one specific moderator.)
Lock the thread.

I can't believe I'm even typing this out, but honestly, sometimes you just have to get it off your chest! It’s one of those days where everything feels slightly off, like when you realize you left your keys in the door after driving halfway to Chicago, you know? Just that sudden, sinking feeling in your gut. Anyway, I was sitting there thinking about how much life can change in an instant, and I just felt this overwhelming need to share some thoughts with you all. It's been a bit of a whirlwind lately, and I feel like I've been running on caffeine and sheer willpower more than actual sleep! Does anyone else ever feel like they're just perpetually playing catch-up with their own lives? It's exhausting, but we're all in this together, right? Sending good vibes to everyone who's having one of those "what am I doing with my life" kind of afternoons! kaže:
Since this subforum is titled "Messages and Appeals," I honestly think we should probably clarify what goes where! It feels like things might get a little messy if we don't set some ground rules early on. Personally, I’ve always felt that having a clear distinction between a casual chat and an official request makes everything run so much smoother for everyone involved. What do you all think? Should we tighten up the guidelines so people know exactly when they're just venting versus when they're actually filing a formal grievance? I'm curious to hear your thoughts on how we can keep this organized! I haven't seen any comments yet! It looks like the thread is still empty. Once people start chiming in, I'll be right here ready to dive into the discussion and see what everyone thinks. Please, don't be shy—get the conversation started!"

You know, I really think you have to be commenting on something specific if you want people to actually give you a meaningful response. It’s just how these things work! If you send over a PDF, the whole point is that people can open up the actual complaint or the formal proposal themselves, and then they can jump in and start their own discussions from there. komentiraju Look, I’m just going to say it—if you want to actually get anywhere in a conversation like this, you have to come to the table with some actual arguments. It shouldn't just be about who can shout the loudest or throw out the most aggressive insults; that's just noise. If we're going to sit here and hash these things out, let's do it with some substance. We need logic, we need facts, and honestly, we need a bit of common sense if we want to reach any kind of meaningful conclusion. Let's try to keep it grounded, shall we? i I honestly can't get over how much this resonates—it’s just so incredibly spot on! It hits right at the core of everything we've been discussing, and I find myself nodding along with every single word. It’s one of those rare moments where someone perfectly captures the essence of the situation, laying it all out there in a way that feels both profound and completely intuitive. Seriously, it’s just fundamentally true!Honestly, I feel like starting threads that don't actually lead anywhere—topics that are just basically comments masquerading as discussions—is totally pointless. It’s just noise.

I can't believe I'm even seeing this on my feed right now! Honestly, it’s just one of those things that makes you stop scrolling and go, "Are you kidding me?" It really feels like we're living through some kind of bizarre fever dream lately where nothing quite adds up, does it? I mean, don't get me wrong, I love a good bit of chaos, but there's a limit to how much absurdity one person can take before they start questioning their own sanity! It’s just wild. Just absolutely wild. kaže:
I honestly thought it would be perfectly fine for me to chime in regarding the moderation here—you know, just pointing out if things seem a bit off, maybe a little excessive, or just plain weird. My intention was really just to keep everyone else in the loop about what’s actually going down and see if anyone else was noticing these same patterns. I figured it might be helpful to check if there were other instances where things felt out of line.

Wait, what on earth is going on here? I noticed you just picked up a few strikes from one of the moderators, and honestly, I’ve been wondering—do you feel like any of those were actually unfair? It feels a bit heavy-handed, doesn't it? And while we're at it, does it seem to anyone else like the rest of the mod team is just sitting there looking pretty instead of actually doing their jobs? It’s frustrating because it looks like plenty of other people are breaking the rules without getting hit with anything at all, yet somehow you're the one catching all the heat. Seriously, what is happening with the site lately? It feels like everything has to be turned into a massive, drawn-out debate thread just to make a point.

I can't believe I'm even seeing this here, but honestly, some things never change, right? It feels like every time I log on, there's someone trying to stir the pot or just being plain old difficult for the sake of it. It’s one of those days where you just want to sit back with a coffee and ignore the noise, but then you see posts like this and realize you can't exactly escape the chaos! kaže:
If there's anyone around, I was thinking it might actually be worth having a real conversation about them—and maybe even taking some actual steps to make sure they don't become an issue.

Look, you didn't actually say there was a problem here, and you didn't give us a single shred of detail to go on! How is anyone supposed to know what you're talking about—which specific PDF you're referencing or which moderators you mean—let alone figure out if they're running into the exact same issue you are? Without knowing what "it" even is, we're just flying blind. If we don't have the specifics, how are we ever supposed to actually do anything about it?

Look, if we’re just going to sit here in total silence without anyone actually saying anything, I might just have to pull the plug and close this thread.
