So, she basically completely misread George's post—not mine, obviously, but George's—and then went ahead and nuked his comment in a thread specifically dedicated to hating on Christmas, even though George actually loves Christmas and is basically counting down the days until it arrives.

I honestly feel like the bare minimum requirement for becoming a moderator should be basic literacy and actually being able to comprehend the text you're supposed to be overseeing, because this moderator clearly hasn't quite grasped the concept yet.

This thread is in the process of being merged with other threads of a similar topic. Every year, someone starts a thread just like this one. We don't need multiple discussions about the negative feelings that crop up during the holiday season; one is enough.

Please be patient and refrain from commenting on moderator decisions within the thread itself. For those matters, please use the designated feedback channel or send the moderators a private message.

Megan Jones3 says: Hold on, but George's feelings regarding Christmas are actually positive. You just didn't understand what he was saying.
All the best,
Reddit

Oh, and one more thing—what does "commenting on moderation" even mean here?

Since you got a notification about a ban here, I’m not quite sure if this is also a complaint regarding the ban you received for commenting on the moderation team—after being told specifically not to do that...

George's thread, along with similar ones, has been merged into a single collective discussion focused on the emotions people experience during the holidays and their general attitudes toward them. Also, I should probably correct you there—the attached thread actually starts with how users feel negative emotions during that season, rather than feelings directed at Christmas, as you felt the need to correct me in your post responding to the moderator's explanation...

I completely get where you're coming from regarding the need for a baseline level of literacy and reading comprehension. I feel the same way about anyone participating in discussions on this site. Or, at the very least, actually reading what they are replying to. But clearly, nobody cares what I think...

You clearly missed the point entirely. Honestly, maybe you need a translator, or perhaps you just need to start following a different set of instructions altogether.

It’s not about the cardboard. My issue is that you completely misinterpreted George's thread and, like some kind of mindless bot, merged it into a topic that has absolutely nothing to do with it. In fact, they're practically polar opposites.

Man... I just wanted to drop by and remind you about that conversation we had the other day. 😉

So what was the point of that automated notification? Just to let me know I misspelled "moderation"? Fine... thanks for the heads-up.
I'm complaining because you completely misunderstood George's thread. You handled it like a bot, merging it into a topic that isn't even remotely related... it's actually the exact opposite.

To you, maybe. To me, it fits right in with the other five threads that ended up in the general discussion folder. Luckily, you aren't a moderator...

Thanks. Really.
