Installing barbed wire fencing

Got a bit of an oddball question here regarding barbed wire. So, I recently inherited a few small plots of land, and after some back-and-forth negotiations with the other owners, we decided to swap them around just so I could consolidate everything into one contiguous area... though there’s this one little leftover patch left out of the deal. It’s pretty small—maybe a few thousand square feet, roughly 130 by 200 feet or maybe 160 by 230 feet, I can't be 100% certain on the exact dimensions... but given how I plan to use the place, I want to fence it off. Not with standard chain link, but with actual barbed wire. Are there any legal hurdles or local zoning headaches in the US for doing something like that? Also, does anyone know where I can pick up a bulk amount of decent barbed wire without getting absolutely fleeced on the price?

Barbed wire is mostly used for fencing off fields or farmland. Honestly, I don't see any issue with you using it to secure your own property 🤷

As for buying the stuff, you usually pick it up by the pound (one pound should stretch about 30 to 50 feet).

The price per pound shouldn't be more than $4.00, though obviously, it all comes down to how much the wire actually holds up...
