I am curious to know whether a 32-bit or a 64-bit version of Windows 7 would perform more effectively on this specific processor?

Honestly, it doesn't matter. 64-bit Windows isn't any different from the 32-bit version anyway.

Thanks 🙂 I just checked my Task Manager, and it looks like they're pulling about 950 MB of RAM. That’s nearly half my capacity, so I suspect that might be the primary reason things feel so sluggish. It isn't quite taking a full minute to launch anything, but there is definitely some noticeable stuttering along the way. Should I consider picking up another 2 GB...

Take a look at your CPU usage just to make sure there isn't some rogue process constantly grinding away at your processor—as long as you've got plenty of free RAM, you shouldn't be seeing any slowdowns.

So, what kind of actual use cases are we looking at with these processors? Like, what's an Intel Celeron actually good for? Multitasking, light gaming, or just basic stuff...

Entry-level CPUs on the market right now... just avoid them if you can.

Can you walk me through what you mean by "prototypes"? What exactly does that look like in practice?

These aren't prototypes; they're just basic, entry-level consumer products. They're cheap for a reason, and the performance reflects that.
They'll handle some light web browsing or basic tasks if you really have to, but nothing more. Honestly, I’d skip them—you can find much better deals on the market. 🙂
