I’ve been watching the way toy manufacturers are pivoting lately, and it feels like we’re hitting a weird crossroads. It used to be that you bought a set, sat on the floor, and used your imagination to make things happen. Now, it feels like everything is being designed with a "smart" component or some kind of digital layer to make it more "engaging."

Don't get me wrong, I love tech, but I do wonder if we're overcomplicating things. There was a certain magic in just having the pieces in your hands and nothing else. I worry that once you start tethering physical hobbies to apps or digital interfaces, you lose that tactile, unplugged feeling that makes these things special for kids (and let's be honest, adults too).

It feels like every major brand is trying to bridge the gap between the screen and the playroom. Do you think adding digital elements actually enhances the experience, or is it just a way to make a physical product feel more "modern" at the expense of pure creativity?
