Is the officiating getting too soft?

I feel like the penalties lately haven't been hitting nearly hard enough to actually deter aggressive driving. It seems like once a certain threshold is crossed, the "oops, my bad" excuse just gets a slap on the wrist instead of a real consequence. Does anyone else feel like the rules are becoming way too lenient for contact on track?
