I’ve been watching a lot of training footage lately, and I can't help but feel a sense of dread every time a franchise player starts pushing their limits. There’s always this massive hype cycle where everyone acts like these athletes are invincible, but you see these clips of them grinding through the heat, and you just wonder how much they can actually take before something snaps.
It feels like we’re constantly walking a tightrope between seeing greatness and seeing a total collapse. We love the comeback stories, but honestly, the physical toll of being the "face of the league" seems to be getting heavier every single year. It’s hard to watch someone you've cheered for for years look like they're redlining their engine just to stay relevant.
Does anyone else feel like the pressure to perform at 100% is actually becoming unsustainable for modern superstars, or am I just being overly cynical?
