I was looking at my calendar the other day and realized I can't remember the last time there was a week where I wasn't checking a score or reading about some massive roster shakeup. It feels like the moment one massive tournament wraps up, three other leagues immediately start sprinting toward their season openers.
I remember back in the day, there was this distinct sense of "the calm before the storm." You'd have a few weeks in the summer where you could actually focus on literally anything else without feeling like you were missing a major piece of news. Now, it's just a constant, rolling wave of trades, training camps, and preseason hype. It's exhausting if you're a die-hard, but honestly, it's kind of great for keeping the momentum going.
That said, I do miss the quiet. Sometimes I just want to enjoy a hobby or a vacation without a deadline for a major trade or a kickoff looming over my head. It feels like the "offseason" has become a myth.
Do you guys actually enjoy the non-stop cycle, or do you find yourself wishing for a legitimate break in the action?
