So, I've been playing World of Warcraft for six years now without any hiccups—until about four months ago. Suddenly, my FPS tanked from a smooth 40-60 down to a miserable 15-30. I figured they botched a recent patch, so I hopped over to Guild Wars 2 to see if things were better there. Fast forward three or four weeks of playing GW2, and guess what? It started stuttering too—same exact issue, stuck at 15-30 FPS. At first, I thought maybe my GPU drivers were acting up, but nope, I’m running the latest versions and everything else runs perfectly fine—Diablo 3, GTA 5, CS:GO... all good. But today, I fired up both World of Warcraft and Guild Wars 2 again, and they're still crawling at 15-30 FPS. Honestly, I'm stumped; these games used to run flawlessly, but now... I even tried a little experiment—downloaded an old version of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King from a private server site just to see if it would perform better. Surprise, surprise: even that was stuck at 15-30 FPS. I really need some help here because I have no clue what's going on.😕😕😕

It’s a little tough to give you much help without more context... there could be a million different things going on here. To start off—have you switched up your monitor lately? Maybe bumped up the resolution? What kind of settings are you running in the games where this happens? Have you tried dropping the graphics details a bit? And most importantly, could you list out your full PC specs?

Lowered the settings, but it didn't change a thing—usually running on High or Medium anyway.
Specs:
RAM: PC-10600, 4 GB CORSAIR CMV4GX3M1A1333C9, DDR3 1333MHz
GPU: PCI-E SAPPHIRE AMD RADEON HD 6670, 1GB DDR5, HDMI, DVI, D-SUB, DP
CPU: Intel Core i7, s. AM3, 3.4GHz, 8MB cache, Quad-core
Motherboard: ASROCK 970DE3 U3S3, AMD 770/SB710, DDR3, G-LAN, S-ATA, PCI-E, USB 3.0, ATX, s. AM3/AM3+

Nah, I haven't swapped out the monitor.

A few tips

"I actually ran into this exact same issue myself, and what worked was heading over to the NVIDIA Control Panel, navigating to the multi-display setup, and ensuring it's configured for more than just a single monitor.

Additionally, you might want to look for the power management mode setting and switch it over to 'Prefer maximum performance.' Just a heads-up, though—doing this will keep your graphics card running at its full clock speed constantly, so you might notice slightly higher temperatures even when you're just idling.

Another thing to try is opening up your "Config.wtf" file located within the "\ World of Warcraft\WTF" folder and manually adding the line SET gxApi "d3d11"
"
"

You could also try enabling triple buffering under the advanced video options, as that usually clears up the bug. I've noticed that sometimes if triple buffering is turned off while VSync is active, the game tends to lock itself at 30fps instead of hitting that smooth 60fps in DX11 mode.

"

On another note, whenever this starts happening, it might be a good idea to check on your system temperatures; I usually pull up Speccy or HWMonitor just to make sure everything is staying within a safe range.

So, I'm running AMD, specifically their AMD Control Center, and I can't find any settings for multi-screen setups or power management modes. There is a power section under the settings, but it just shows me my CPU wattage—super helpful. And as for that SET gxApi "d3d11" thing, I've already got that set in WTF.

I ran into a similar issue—couldn't really get it sorted until I just ended up wiping the drive and reformatting everything.
