So, I’ve been trying to send emails through my Gmail account, but they just won't go through—I keep getting these bounce-backs saying the messages were flagged as spam.

Dear Customer,

Unfortunately, we have to let you know that we couldn't deliver your email. Our system identified it as spam. If you still want to successfully get this message to the recipient, please copy the code from this email and send it over to our technical support team at support@gmail.com.

Just so you know, our customer support might reach out to ask for your permission to review the contents of your email, just so we can figure out if it really is spam or not.

Code:

Thanks for understanding,

Your Gmail Support

I tried sending a support request using that specific code—and wouldn't you know it—I got another message saying *that* was spam too. Basically, the email failed to deliver again.

Even when I try sending an email to myself—same thing happens.
Everything seemed to be working fine just a few days ago, too... I guess.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks.

I blocked AOL addresses on my work email ages ago. I just can't take anyone seriously if they're reaching out from an AOL account. You send one photo and suddenly your whole inbox is trashed.😁

The issue is you're sending emails from a Gmail account, which just isn't working out. Maybe don't do that.

Looks like AOL is having some major issues managing their mail servers, which landed them right on the blacklists. Basically, before any mail server even touches an incoming message, it checks these lists to see if the sender's server is flagged. If it is, the whole thing gets rejected instantly without even trying to read the mail.
For example: https://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx , you can go ahead and check the AOL mail server yourself (mail.aol.com). From what I can tell, their server is hosted over in a different domain entirely.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Eh, that’s just my ancient email address—the very first one I ever set up. Even though I migrated to better providers like Gmail or Outlook ages ago, some old accounts and services are still tied to that original one... it's kind of a mess, really. ☕
