Issues with protocol filtering

So I've got my laptop running Windows 10. and now, right when I boot the damn thing up, I get hit with this error message:
"An error occurred while starting the proxy service. Analysis of application protocols (POP3, HTTP, IMAP) will not function."

Now YouTube videos won't load and I can't even open my Facebook messages. Everything is just broken.

Does anyone actually know what this message means? How do I fix this mess and get everything back to normal?

First off, why is your laptop even hitting a proxy to get online? Also, you on LAN, Wi-Fi, or what...

Check those TCP/IPv4 settings. Tell me exactly what's checked and what the text says.

Look, I'm a biologist by trade, so this computer stuff is basically alien technology to me.

I'm just hopping on the neighbor's Wi-Fi from about 30 feet away.

Where am I supposed to find these TCP/IPv4 settings?

Control panel -> Network -> (hit whatever network you're on)-> properties-> find TCP/IPv4 right there
