Hello everyone!

I was wondering if anyone else here has dealt with something similar... about two days ago, this patch appeared on my abdomen, and the itching just won't quit. They look like two irregular circles—roughly between 1cm and 2cm in size—slightly raised, and the itching fluctuates constantly from mild to absolutely unbearable. Everyone around me keeps insisting it’s nothing—suggesting maybe it’s a food reaction or a random bug bite—but I’m honestly at a loss for what to believe. I've attached a photo so you can see what I mean... please excuse the quality, my phone camera isn't great, but hopefully, you can make out something. My skin is naturally quite pale, so the contrast between my skin tone and the redness doesn't show up very clearly in the shot. If anyone has any idea what this might be, I would truly appreciate your help. 😢

What’s the status today? Are we seeing these patches start to recede, spread, change texture, or peel away? Or have they vanished entirely?

At first glance, they look like hives. But the timeline doesn't fit the profile. Typical hives usually clear up within 24 hours, often migrating to different spots on the body.

So, here is the situation as of today... the changes haven't vanished entirely, but they don't seem to be spreading either.

I spent some time digging around online, trying to wrap my head around what this actually is—and I stumbled upon some advice suggesting it might just be an allergy. Following that lead, I tried applying a diluted apple cider vinegar solution to the area, since that’s what the suggestion called for... but when I applied it, there was this brief, intense sensation—sort of a tickling, itching feeling, though it's hard to put a finger on it exactly—and then everything settled down. For a split second, I almost thought the swelling had gone down because of the solution, but after a few hours, it felt like the size hadn't changed at all... so, it probably wasn't the magic cure I read about. The one silver lining? It isn't as itchy since I used it. Today, I barely had those moments where I had to struggle to keep myself from scratching uncontrollably; it just twitched here and there... unless I tried to touch the area with my fingers, of course, then the itch returned with a vengeance. Perhaps that means it might finally start receding 🤷..

I forgot to mention—those red, raised circles, each with a tiny little "pimple" or "bump" right in the center... I'm not quite sure how else to describe them...

So, yeah... the itching has subsided, but nothing is actually clearing up..

The itching actually started back on Sunday while I was heading home from the cemetery... which made me wonder, could something have bitten me while I was out there? 🤷... though, honestly, it seems unlikely that anything could have bitten through such a thick shirt... I really don't know what to make of it. If this doesn't start looking better in a few days, I'll definitely have to go see my doctor..

Whenever I have an itch, my go-to move is just applying some Snoop Dogg. That said, I’m not exactly a dr, so please don't take my word as medical gospel. 😉
Is that dark spot actually some kind of mold?
Another solid option would be heading down to a local CVS or Walgreens and showing them what's going on; the pharmacists there are usually pretty good at identifying things and might suggest an over-the-counter remedy.

I probably shouldn't have mentioned how much this itching was bothering me—now it feels like it's actually ramping up 🙂..

By the way, what exactly is Snoop Dogg used for? What kind of ointment is it? Can you just pick it up at a local CVS without a prescription? I’m thinking maybe I could try that before jumping straight to a doctor's appointment... or perhaps I'll just send someone to grab some for me, and if that doesn't do the trick, then I'll deal with the physician...
Regarding those dark spots—yes, they are moles, and I have quite a few of them..
Thank you so much for all the advice, truly! 🙂

Snoop Dogg is used for all sorts of stings; I believe it’s an antihistamine, and yeah, you can just grab it over the counter without a prescription.

Since you mentioned there's a small blister at the center of the rash, we might be looking at an insect bite. You could try an over-the-counter antihistamine, similar to what Kyle Lee7 suggested. However, if the rash persists, spreads, or if your condition worsens, please consult a doctor immediately.

Let us know how things look in a few days.

Best regards. 🙂

I hadn't realized that little bump was actually an insect bite... I've already gone ahead and picked up some topical cream to soothe it, so we'll see how that goes. I might even grab some antihistamines just to be safe—better to have them on hand in case the cream doesn't do the trick. I'll check back in a few days to let you all know how things are looking 🙂.

Nicholas Myers and Kyle Lee7, thank you both so much for the help... I'm really hoping this clears it up and I can finally put this thing behind me

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update on how things are looking today.
Initially, I tried applying some over-the-counter anti-itch cream to the area, but honestly? It didn't do a thing. Interestingly enough—and perhaps a bit counterintuitively—the itching only started to subside once I applied a diluted solution of apple cider vinegar. Following that, I decided to try taking one of those allergy tablets I had left over from this past summer—you know, the ones prescribed for sun-related allergies? The packaging specifically mentions relief for allergies, bites, and general itching, so I figured it was worth a shot. Every day that I took one, the redness seemed to fade, though it always felt like it would flare back up overnight. However, over the last two days, there’s been a noticeable shift... when I woke up both yesterday and this morning, the affected area had actually stayed diminished without that frustrating nighttime swelling.
So, while those small circular marks are still present, they are gradually shrinking and, thankfully, the itching has stopped. Even those little bumps in the center seem to be clearing up. At this point, I’m really hoping everything is finally on the mend—that it will vanish completely within the next few days and stay gone, sparing me a trip to the doctor. I truly hope this isn't anything serious...
Thanks again to everyone for all the help and advice you've shared. 🙂
