Lately, chewing has been pretty painful. At first, I figured it was just a tooth acting up, but looking closer, the pain is actually between the teeth—more like in the gums. Since I don't have any cavities, it doesn't seem like a tooth issue. Anyone dealt with this before? Should I go ahead and make an appointment with my dentist?

Have you been back to the dentist lately?
It’s entirely possible the issue is tooth-related—though, I suppose, cavities aren't always immediately obvious when you're just performing a quick self-examination.

Could you perhaps clarify exactly where you're feeling this discomfort? For instance, is the pain localized, or does it seem to encompass your entire mouth—like the whole gum line, for example?

It's on my bottom jaw, right side, kind of towards the end, past the last tooth. I haven't seen a dentist in two or three years—honestly, I almost forgot where I even live... 😁

It’s possible you’re dealing with some localized inflammation in the gum tissue—molars can be particularly finicky, especially if you've recently had a tooth erupt or are still navigating that particular stage of dental development.
That said, I suppose you should probably head to a dentist if things don't settle down on their own—though, honestly, it might be worth making an appointment regardless just to have a professional give your teeth a thorough once-over. 😉

Yeah, you’re probably right. Thanks for the advice, though. It's most likely just a wisdom tooth trying to make its grand entrance.
I’d rule out a cavity for sure—can’t even remember the last time I had one, maybe five years ago? I brush regularly and take decent care of them.

I’m really not feeling the whole dentist visit, but like you said, I'll have to bite the bullet if the pain doesn't let up.

I’m definitely ruling out a cavity since I can't even remember the last time I had one, maybe five years ago? Plus, I'm pretty religious about brushing and my teeth are actually solid.

I really don't feel like dealing with the dentist, but like you said, I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and go if this pain doesn't chill out.

Man, I used to tell myself all my teeth were fine too (even though I hadn't seen a dentist in 7 years). Then I finally sat in the chair and it was just cavity after cavity—even though they looked perfectly fine at first glance! Ended up spending weeks at the clinic getting everything patched up. It was brutal.

I said I don't have any cavities...

How old are you anyway? Like, seven? If you're seven or younger, it’s not exactly shocking that you haven't been to the dentist in that long.

How old are you anyway? Like, seven? If you're actually seven or younger, then yeah, maybe it makes sense why you haven't seen a dentist in forever.
