...or simply put, Children. For those who might need a refresher, just to remind you what we're actually talking about. The entire movie essentially revolves around sex. It kicks off with a scene in a bedroom involving a sixteen-year-old boy and a twelve-year-old girl. He pressures her into intimacy, promising he'll be gentle... which, of course, he wasn't...

"It’s me, Casper," he tells this girl who happens to be freshly infected with HIV while they're hooking up, and she’s just completely high on some pills some random guy shoved her to take because he couldn't keep his hands off her.
And honestly, that’s just the final scene of the movie. If I had to rate this thing on a scale from one to ten, I suppose it easily deserves a twenty.

I watched it maybe two or three times, but the last time was probably five or six years ago, so I honestly can't say how it holds up objectively

All I know is that, personally, I thought it was absolutely incredible. I’ve spent ages hunting for something else by Clark that hits that same way, and so far? Nothing. Still nothing.

Yeah, a film was playing at the Everglades recently, but after some pretty bad experiences—both for me and my friends—I decided to just stay far away from that place. So, yeah...

It’s been ages since I last sat down to watch it, but if my memory serves me right, it was absolutely stellar. 👍

I watched it a few times back when I was in elementary school. At the time, it felt a bit twisted and silly to me, though I know one friend of mine—and several others—thought it was incredible. She still talks about how girls seem to mature faster, hitting puberty and all that stuff before the boys do 😬.
Looking back now, I think it’s a decent enough film, but you really have to watch it when you're a kid. Plus, the whole vibe of the 90s here in the States was pretty chaotic and confusing, so for us Children, it basically became a cult classic, regardless of whether people judged it for what it was actually portraying
. In my view, it's a solid film that uses an interesting pseudo-documentary style 👍.

I see we're discussing other works by Clark too, so here is my quick little summary:
While he managed to capture that "shock factor" with the movie Kids, I get the impression that Clark is constantly pushing to be seen as this controversial, alternative indie director. But there's a limit to forcing that persona. You end up with something like Ken Park, which completely oversteps the bounds of good taste. It’s just senseless, low-quality perversion, and unfortunately, lacks any real substance. Since I'm not usually a fan of those types of movies anyway, I honestly don't have a single good thing to say about it
. Bully—I rushed through this one, and it didn't really leave an impression on me. Maybe I should have given it another shot, but who knows, maybe I was just having a bad day 😬. The only reason I even sat down to watch it was because I liked the cast, but since acting isn't the sole ingredient of a great movie, I wouldn't expect much more even if I saw it again
. Another Day in Paradise—now, this might be the one thing I actually found somewhat watchable, but I'm certain I won't be revisiting it anytime soon
. So yeah, 🙂

I watched it recently and honestly... it changed everything for me. I spent my whole life just waiting to grow up, but after seeing this movie, I kind of wish I could stay a kid forever. What do you guys think about it?
