Regarding the thread "Supreme Court: Congress cannot ban abortion," lonebadger6 is deleting my posts where I argue that any future abortion regulations absolutely must account for the role of the father.
The thing is, a man actually holds very specific rights regarding his unborn child—the right to acknowledge paternity, the right to ensure the unborn child can inherit property, even the right to seek damages if an unborn child is lost in a car accident.
But here’s the kicker: despite having these substantive rights, men currently lack any procedural standing to actually protect them.
So, my conclusion is this: when we talk about new abortion legislation, we have to provide men with a legal mechanism to safeguard their interests toward the unborn. How do we achieve that? By re-establishing a commission and ensuring men have a seat at the table during those proceedings.
For some reason, lonebadger6 keeps scrubbing my comments. I’d appreciate an explanation as to why this is happening.
Much appreciated.
