Laptop issues after installing macOS

I picked up a used laptop that was basically a brick software-wise. The admin lost the password, so I couldn't install or uninstall a single thing—total lockdown. I finally decided to just wipe it and put a fresh version of macOS 7 on it. That’s when things went south.
I did manage to get it online somehow—since the Ethernet port is clearly dead—so I'm rocking Wi-Fi for now.
But man, the display looks terrible. Everything is stretched out, and I can't get it to output properly through either the VGA or the HDMI ports to my external monitor, even though it worked perfectly fine before I wiped the system.
Every time I try to update a driver for any component, it tells me I already have the best version installed.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
I thought about just dropping it off at a repair shop in Seattle, but money is tight right now—plus, I'm way too stubborn to pay someone else to solve a puzzle like this when I'm hoping some geniuses here might have a clever workaround. Help a guy out!

Did you make sure to grab all the necessary drivers directly from the manufacturer's website?

Yeah, I grabbed it straight from the Toshiba site—downloaded it onto my tablet first, then just moved it over to my laptop.

I finally managed to figure it out! I'm not quite sure how to close this thread, though—if someone could just walk me through that part, I'd really appreciate it.

I assume you forgot to record the graphics card drivers 😬

I mean, I technically installed everything—but let’s just say I didn't exactly "install" anything.
Not sure how I managed to grab the Wi-Fi drivers but missed all the others—total mystery, really.
The issue was that they were all tucked away in .zip files, and instead of actually running the installers, I just extracted them into some random folder.
And honestly, when my buddy asked if I even grabbed them from the official site, it really made me pause—haha!
So, I just grabbed WinRAR, opened them up, and finally ran the setup. There you go—pure genius.
