Sorry if this isn't the right thread, but this seems like the best spot for this...🙂
So, I’ve got a bass issue. My downstairs neighbor is constantly complaining about the noise. It’s happened twice already since I moved into my own room—I actually have my own space now, but they act like the bass is personally attacking them through the floor!🙂
To give you the rundown on my setup: I'm running Sony SS-RG555 speakers hooked up to a Razer BlackShark V2 amp (minus the sub), just direct to the SS-RG555s.
Some stuff online says they pull 2 x 150 watts separately, but I’m only using one side.
(The speaker itself doesn't list wattage, just 6 ohms)
I live in an older apartment building, not one of those cheap new builds. The walls are thick, so insulation should be decent...
But apparently, it’s not doing much to stop the vibrations :S
The sub sits on my desk while I'm sitting off to the side...
During the day, the loudest I go is maybe 50% volume; I don't push the bass past that point.
Can anyone tell me if there's a way to dampen the sound so it doesn't bleed downstairs? I see some people running 1kw setups while I'm only at 150w.
Also, does he actually have the legal right to sue me???
I read somewhere that there's a limit, like 65dB, but I have no clue how loud it actually sounds to them. My mom says when she walks down the hallway, you can hear everything clearly :S
Any advice on what I should do???

p.s. I'm not blasting it at 50% all the time. Usually, it's pretty moderate, but 50% is the max during the day (in case that wasn't clear 😁)
