Hey there! So, I just picked up a new Toshiba laptop charger from someone online. Everything looks identical except for one thing—the old one says 1.5A for the input, but this new one is rated at 2A. The output is still the exact same, though: 19V at 3.95A. The seller insists it’s perfectly fine and will work without a hitch. Any chance this could cause issues?

I have a bit of a dilemma regarding a power cable/adapter for my old Intel Core i7 laptop. I originally picked this machine up back in 2007, and now I’m running into some trouble. The connector on the cord itself isn't making a reliable connection anymore, and since the battery has pretty much given up the ghost—it barely lasts thirty minutes and won't even hold a charge while plugged in—the laptop is basically useless without a steady power source. I know I can just buy a replacement cable, though I'm not entirely sure if I need to replace the entire unit including the transformer block or just the cord itself. For instance, I saw one listed on Amazon for about $73, but then I heard rumors about those generic versions made in the USA that go for anywhere from 50 to $20 dollars. Does anyone know where I might be able to track one of these down locally here in Washington, D.C.? Where would be the best place to shop for these types of parts?
