Laptop recommendations, please help!

Hey, I’m on the hunt for a new laptop. The one I’ve been lugging around is basically on its deathbed—it spends half its life begging for updates and, honestly, it’s just time for an upgrade with more RAM and a bigger screen.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? What should I actually be looking at here? Which brands are actually worth the money lately? How much memory am I talking about, what kind of GPU...
I’m running AutoCAD, Revit, and Max, and I know those programs aren't exactly light on resources. They need specific specs when it comes to memory and graphics, but to be honest, I have zero clue what the sweet spot is.
If there’s a kind soul out there who can walk me through this, I’d really appreciate it.

Hi, hmm... for something like that, I think you really need a laptop with a dedicated graphics card—something with a Ryzen processor and at least 16GB of RAM... I'm not sure what kind of budget you had in mind, and since I'm over here in the States rather than abroad, I can't be certain about local price trends... though I've mostly used Best Buy in the past and they seem to have decent deals, so you might want to check there... honestly, if you're doing heavy lifting, it’s probably better to grab a gaming laptop... I don't know how much you plan on traveling with it, but if you need portability, maybe look for a 14" model; if it's just staying on your desk at home, a 15" or 16" would be better. 🙂

You'd get a pretty powerful machine with a decent screen, good graphics, and so on... I think it would get the job done well... 🙂
Then again, this isn't exactly cheap money, so I'm wondering, how much were you planning to spend on a laptop? 🙂

You get a pretty beefy laptop, decent screen, solid graphics, etc... I think it'll handle your workload just fine... 🙂

I got some really helpful answers on another thread, but I still haven't made a final call.
The laptop is mostly for working from home, doing presentations, and occasionally taking it out into the field, but I won't be carrying it every single day.
My budget isn't set in stone—I don't upgrade often—so I'm looking to spend somewhere around $1,800 to $1,900.
