Leaking information from official files

Are police officers or officials at the Department of Justice allowed to leak information from a case file? And what steps can I take if I suspect this is happening?

They aren't allowed to do that, and you certainly have the right to report them. If you'd prefer to handle this in person, you could head down to the corporate headquarters or even the Department of Education—though, if you're looking to avoid an awkward face-to-face encounter, maybe skip the local branch. Alternatively, you can always send an email. Just a heads-up: if you choose to remain anonymous, don't expect a formal reply, but rest assured they will still investigate the matter regardless.👍

Thanks for the info. I once brought in a court document proving my record was clean, and my supervisor actually read my entire file out loud to me. This was eight years ago. I just stood there, completely stunned.
