I’m wondering if anyone here has dealt with something similar regarding property legalization;
Some relatives of mine have a building that isn't fully permitted. It was originally built as an outbuilding on the lot, rather than being registered as residential space.
At some point down the road, they added onto it—installing stairs and a deck—but those changes were never officially recorded.
(Everything was constructed prior to 2012).
Now, they’re trying to get everything legalized, but there's a catch...
They brought in a surveyor, and while he measured the new property lines, he somehow claims he doesn't know the actual square footage (neither of the footprint nor anything else)? 🤔
To make matters worse, the architect is demanding an email directly from the surveyor containing the digital project files, refusing to accept scanned documents instead.
Honestly, the whole thing feels like something straight out of Spider-Man...
Is all of this actually necessary for the legalization process?
