Liver vascular sequelae

Someone close to me was just diagnosed with focal liver lesions (specifically a vascular sequela from a segmental liver infarct). I tried Googling it, but I can't find a clear explanation or description anywhere. Can anyone translate this into plain English for me?

Since it's focal, we're looking at a specific spot rather than something spread all through the liver tissue.
Regarding the other thing, I’d say it looks ischemic—basically, it's just not getting enough blood flow because a vessel is blocked off somewhere.

I'm not entirely certain, but my take is that a blood vessel supplying one specific segment of the liver—there are seven in total—got blocked. If that's what happened, the lesion itself isn't necessarily the catastrophe; the liver has an incredible functional reserve and can function perfectly fine even if one segment is compromised. The real question, perhaps, is identifying what caused the blockage in the first place.
