Local Network Setup

I’m running into some trouble with file sharing. I’ve got three computers set up—two are running Windows 7 and one is on Windows XP. They're all hooked up through a switch, but I can't seem to get to the shared files or the printers hosted on the XP machine. Every time I try to connect, it either keeps bugging me for a username and password or just throws an error saying, "\\XP-COMP is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource..."
Everything was working perfectly fine until yesterday, and then suddenly—nothing.
The weird part? I can still access the shared folders on the Windows 7 machines from the XP computer without any issues.

So, did you change anything? Or maybe someone else who uses those computers messed with the settings. If it wasn't you, someone definitely touched something. They won't admit it, obviously—people love to play dumb—but someone definitely moved a slider somewhere. Put them under the spotlight and start questioning.
Did anyone reset any passwords? Did someone tweak the permissions? Did someone delete a user account? Did they mess with the firewall settings? Maybe someone installed a new antivirus program that came with its own firewall?
There are endless possibilities here. Don't throw in the towel yet. Shine that light on them and dig deep! If it worked before yesterday and doesn't now, someone definitely tinkered with it.

And honestly, maybe someone downloaded some malware from some shady site. That could have trashed the settings. But again, that would be "someone" making a mistake.

I spent basically the entire night digging through the registry—total rabbit hole—but I finally found the culprit and sorted it out.
Just leaving this here in case anyone else hits the same wall:
