My Logitech mouse just died on me mid-work (running Windows 8.1). Everything else seems fine, but trying to navigate this thing with just a keyboard is a total nightmare. I already swapped in a new mouse, but no luck—same issue. Now the system keeps throwing this error at me
"There is a problem with the HID-compliant mouse device driver." Any ideas? What should I do?

Maybe try a little workaround through Device Manager—basically, just go in there, uninstall the driver, and then give your computer a quick restart. Once everything boots back up, see if that Logitech mouse starts behaving itself...

Thanks, man. You really pointed me in the right direction. I'm running the same OS (Windows 8.1) on both my desktop and my laptop. After digging through Device Manager, I realized a file was missing on the desktop: C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\mouclass.sys. So, I just copied the file over from the laptop, rebooted, and... BOOM. It works! No clue how that file just vanished. It’s not in the Recycle Bin or anything. Just disappeared while I was working. Ran an antivirus scan in the meantime and found two nasty viruses. Probably what nuked the file.
Thanks again.

Looks like things got a little messy in macOS, but hey—as long as it’s running smoothly now, I guess we're good. 🙂
