Hey everyone...

I’ve been scrolling through that "Marathoners—Stay Healthy" thread below and man, I am loving it... looks like there are a ton of runners in here. I haven't managed to catch up on everything yet, but my head is already spinning with questions, so I figured I'd just start a new thread...

So, I've been doing some casual running lately over by Central Park, 5.0 miles, just keeping it low-key. A couple of days ago, I actually tackled my first half marathon, the one in the Grand Canyon 🙄
Those climbs caught me totally off guard since I usually just stick to the flat paths in the park, so I started feeling the burn right around the 13-8.7 miles mark, but I still managed to cross the finish line in just under 1:55 🙂

One thing that really blew my mind was this guy, probably in his mid-60s, who just casually cruised past me at mile 10 🙏

Anyway, it's been two days since the race and I'm feeling pretty wiped out—total muscle soreness and all that, which makes sense since it was a longer distance than what I'm used to and all those hills were brutal... My only real concern is this weird sensation in the tendons behind my knee. It doesn't exactly hurt, but it feels like it's "skipping" or clicking whenever I go down stairs... it's a pretty uncomfortable feeling...😢
Has anyone else dealt with something like this? I can't tell if I've actually done some damage or if it's just a "normal" reaction to pushing myself harder than usual during a race?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm planning to hit the trails at Yosemite in about 10 days 9.9 miles, so I'm really hoping to bounce back quickly so I can get back to my light jogs in Central Park by the end of the week 🙂

That's about it for now... cheers... 👋

Oh, and obviously, I'm aiming to conquer a full marathon one day 🙂

I’d give you some advice if I actually had any—but let’s face it, I don’t.🙂
Whatever, you'll be fine. You can't fight fire with fire—just get back out there and run. Just don't overdo it.

I'm with you on that, 🙂
I just figured I'd start a fresh thread since the marathon guys seemed pretty quiet lately...
