I’ve got this lady in my life who’s been struggling quite a bit with fluid retention...
And since you can find just about anything on the internet these days, she’s gone down a rabbit hole trying to figure things out...

Basically, she was previously taking some kind of diuretic, though she was only ever taking half a pill at a time. But now that the specific brand she used isn't available anymore, her doctor switched her over to Huggins.
The whole issue is that Huggins seems to come with a massive list of contraindications, and honestly, she’s getting pretty spooked by all the warnings and is avoiding taking it altogether.
She's wondering if there's anything else out there that works similarly but doesn't carry such a heavy baggage of side effects or precautions?

Anyway, Merry Christmas to everyone!! 🙂

1. Okay, what about her other diagnoses? What other medications is she on???
What "contraindications" are we even talking about? If it were truly dangerous, nobody would be prescribing it in the first place.
Who exactly is claiming it has these issues?
And who is the doctor that actually put her on this regimen?
If she’s struggling with edema, half a pill of Tertensif isn't going to do much anyway, and besides, that isn't even the only drug containing indapamide.
There are a lot of holes in this story.

1. Seventh Bank, or whatever the hell it’s called—honestly, I can’t even remember the name right now (which is pretty pathetic, I know!!)—but she’s taking quite a bit of it...
She told me she’s genuinely worried about her fat levels spiking in her blood or some other nonsense related to that...
The doctor wrote her a prescription for... 😁

I followed her instructions and went ahead and peed, just like she told me to... :/

Look, I can't give you a straight answer without knowing the rest of her diagnoses or at least what other meds are in that mix.
From what I can tell, her metabolic health isn't exactly where it should be.

So, he’s telling me this... he’s just taking Atorix for his cholesterol (20mg) and some Claritin (5 mg)
All of it, just once a day...

And you tell me how that looks...

She might want to try Claritin 2,5/12,5 mg.
And honestly, we really need to figure out what's actually causing those edemas—whether it's something cardiac, renal, circulatory...
