Don't stress about Christmas π
Neither before Christmas nor after...
Yesterday, a friend and I were just venting about how much of a failure we are. Sheβs struggling because she can only find guys who are total bottom-of-the-barrel losers, while Iβve been moping around wanting someone just as mediocre...but then I realized we aren't failures at all. Itβs all just silly and trivial...
Nothing in this world is ever going to be perfect. Most people here vent because they're single, but I have a best friend who's married, and honestly, I see more loneliness in her eyes than I've ever felt myself.
We don't need some quick fix for the New Year. Why waste energy on "what ifs"? Especially now, when the air is crisp and cold, everything is decorated, and emotions feel heavier... there's a certain beauty in sadness when it reminds you that you're actually capable of feeling things. And it's easy enough to turn it into happiness if you actually try..
I hope everyone gets some wonderful gifts... whether they're things you can hold or just moments.
As for the people who were jerks and didn't deserve anything? I hope they finally get their act together and find peace, wherever they end up.
And to everyone, including myself, I hope we all learn our lessons in the coming year π π
ps. Walter, I know it's an off day, but I'm dropping a happy thread anyway... and I promise, no more sad posts. In 2004, I plan to be the resident forum optimist....aha π!
